A few insect issues but nothing you wont find anywhere else. Biggest problem is that the contract supposedly doesn't allow "aggressive dogs" and states so pretty clearly, however multiple dogs have been attacked, as well as my puppy because the Management refuses to enforce this in any way. Its dangerous to go jogging or to walk your dog. If you get attacked, main office will not lift a finger. That in itself ruins the experience of living here. Great experience if you have no pets, never go out and don't have kids. Literally EVERYONE has an aggressive pit-bull here, its ridiculous. For the cost of living here, you would expect some sort of response after the first couple of attacks. During the Yearly Inspection, whoever conducted the inspection let my dog loose as well as moved items in my home. I called the front desk and they were not able to provide any assistance. They only assured me that the inspectors would not have done such a thing. I find it interesting that this was the only time my dog has ever gotten out of her double lock cage. Also Id love to figure out where shes been hiding her opposable thumbs. Because of this, my dog (who was a puppy at the time) caused furniture damage. Again, front desk were unable to help me. Roberts Mill is a quiet place to live but messing with people's homes when its supposed to be an inspection, and not enforcing simple rules that ensure the safety and security of its residents is pretty essential I would think. These were the main reasons I did not renew my lease. Roberts Mill has upsides as well. Dog Parks (when Pit Bulls arn't around) are great and the pool is nice even though its freezing cold. Sometimes that's a good thing. All and all, I would not recommend Roberts Mill to anyone mainly because of the "elephant in the room" no one talks about which is the Pit Bulls attacking everything that moves. This is everything I was able to notice from living here after a year.
The apartment they deemed moving ready was far from moving ready it was unsavory, not appropriate for human living. The cleanest thing was the basement. So we chose not sign the lease to waiting on management to return deposit.
A little slice of Camden in Maple Shade... Absolute worst experience of my life, this place has it all! Roaches galore, syringes outside, pit-pull paradise! Had my car keyed twice, neighbors tires slashed, kids run around unsupervised, crack-heads randomly wandering the neighborhood. It is quite a shame, this place used to be so nice, oh well, keep far far away. It's funny how nice the employees there are when they happily accept your money (which they will for ANYONE), then tack on fees to your rent for who knows why. they come into your apartment without any prior notice (don't let them tell you otherwise) and found that I had a cat and tacked on an additional $300 non-refundable fee + $25/month, OK, fair enough, they have a pet policy as with most apartments, but the way they did it by coming without my knowledge and then adding these fee's without even letting me know.. horrible experience, never ever rent here.. you have been warned!
horrible experience, at move in they were so friendly and immediately answered all of my questions polite and professional. When I asked to be let out of my lease a month early (after giving 6 months notice) I was told (in so many words) absolutely NOT! When my apartment was without heat for 3 of the coldest days last winter, nothing was done to help me out, I asked for a hotel room and they responded by sending a maintenance man out with a small space heater that wouldn't heat up the tiny bathroom.. luckily, I had friends that I could go to. yeah, that's about par for the course at this place.. don't expect much. they'll "wine and dine" you to sign the lease (which they will approve ANYONE for, read between the lines there...), then if you actually need anything they will (literally) leave you in the cold! On my last month at RM's, I always paid via auto bill pay (which I paid each and every month on time), the payment never went through for whatever reason (not on my end, my info never changed), instead of them calling or emailing me, I was sent a certified letter in the mail stating I was being sued by Roberts Mill.. after finally dealing with these idiots and dealing with a lot of stress, I was then told my apartment was damaged and not only would I not get my deposit back, they've tacked on an additional $700. yes, there were some spills/etc.on the carpet called 'normal wear and tear' IMO after living there several years. When I asked if the $300 pet deposit and $25/month pet rent I paid would cover it, I was told "no, that's not what the pet deposit/rent is for...". I strongly advise you take many pictures when you move in and put down throw rugs, don't hang any pictures, cover the 60's style apartment in plastic if you have to (re: Dexter if needed!) :) They claim that the apartment should be exactly as it was when you moved in, even if you've lived there several years. they will zing you good when you leave! It's my own fault for not doing so when I moved in, call me naive, but they seemed like descent people. lesson learned. On top of all this, these apartments are dated/overpriced and there's cops there all the time dealing with certain "neighbors".. I've also found needles/drug baggies all over the place, disgusting! if you're smart, you'll stay away, there are much better alternatives out there, Like the other reviewer said, Ryan's Run would be a much better option.
I am writing this review to the best of my ability and I am unbiased in what I am saying. I will update at 6 months and 1 year. My girlfriend and I moved in about a little over a month ago. I have lived in garden apartments, and just moved out of renting an entire house. We met with Diane in the office who was pleasant and showed us around, we decided to look at some other apartments in the area as I like to be well informed before making a decision. After making the decision to move into Roberts Mill we filled out the paper work and didnt even make it back to our last residence before hearing from Diane congratulating us on our approval. We did our initial inspection of the apartment and found a few issues which we brought up to the office and they assured us it would be fixed. The fixed a few of our issues and when we inspected again I found the tile that was glued down had came up again. I am not saying this is an issue as I have not brought it up to the office because it doesnt bother me that much. We did have an issue with the circuit that controlled the outlets by the sink, the dish washer and the washer machine. This was brought up to the office on a saturday and was promptly fixed on monday. The apartment and kitchen feel dated, but we were aware of that moving in, also there isnt much storage space in either but again not the biggest issues. What it lacks in upstairs space it makes up for in the basement as I did not want to get a storage unit it has plenty of space for all my stuff. The whole apartment was painted and new carpet installed, I have also seen other tenants leave and contractors coming in renovating. I don't see all the pit-bulls that people are talking about although I do have a problem with the little dogs around the laundry facility and the lazy owners who cant pick up their poop! It really infuriates me that the complex provides poop bags and I have to navigate land mines with my dog because these people can't pick up after their dogs! Parking is great, and my "block" is very quiet and neighbors are friendly there have been police at a neighbor down the roads apartment, I was told by another tenant that it is a regular occurrence. Also a few days ago I noticed MSPD cruising thru the neighborhood which is nice to see. All in all I would recommend Roberts Mill it is in an excellent location as far as whats around and close to major highways and rent is decent for what you get as well as for a first time renter
