Went for a tour, and they tried to pressure me into signing a lease. no microwave, very vague answers, staff was kinda rude, didn't get a tour by the promised apartment manager, every time I wold ask a question they would defer me, then talk about this was all I needed for a single female and I shouldn't worry about anything else. Then I was belittled about my age and constantly reminded that I was a single female (my a male employee). I'm annoyed with the dishonesty, (that I confirmed with the online reviews) and the unprofessional behavior.
Woodlake Village is a Section 8 residential apartment complex. There is tons of rift-raft floating in and around the complex on a regular basis. I saw Palm Bay Police Department just about every day in the complex looking for somebody. Definitely not a place I would bring my kids, ever. I made several maintenance requests to have my things repaired inside my apartment, one included my dead-bolt that did not latch. I could not lock my door in the section 8 ghetto for 3 months after several requests to have it fixed. The maintenance crew even came in and looked at the repairs that were necessary, and didn't do them. Then when I turned in my 60 day notice, they said they never received it, nor the maintenance requests therefore my contract extended into September 2013 after I had already moved out. Then I receive a collections notice in the mail for over $800 because I did not turn in the keys to the dead bolt that didn't lock anyway and repairs that needed done in the apartment. IF ANYTHING IS REMOTELY WRONG WITH THE APARTMENT EVEN IF IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT AND MAINTENANCE DID NOT REPAIR IT IN YOUR LEASING PERIOD, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE! IT'S A SCAM!! The staff in the leasing office are utterly disrespectful especially the head of leasing contracts/office. Also, if you have a motorcycle, do not think that you can keep it inside, they will give you a cease and desist. My advice is DO NOT EVER MOVE HERE!!!! WORST DECISION YOU COULD EVER MAKE!
As an Ex-Resident of Woodlake I would like to state that not only was I discriminated by Jackie and her staff I was also told that because I spoke to my neighbors who were very loud at times. That I had an association with them and for this reason my lease was not re-newed and I was given no time to move out. At the time I was pregnant and had a child who was only 4 then. We had no place to go, we lived in our car for days until I finally found a place to stay. I explained this to Jackie and her staff and they showed no concern and told me that it was my fault for associating myself with such neighbors. They didn't return my deposit to me and are still charging me for a whole months rent, while I was already starting to live in my car. If this was the last place on earth to live....I would rather be in the streets!!!!
