WTF they say a resident CANNOT fly an American flag from their own place. You can be assured... I will not be renting from them. What part of "this is America we live in," do they not understand?? Don't ever tell me.. I cannot fly the American flag. Wrong Wrong Wrong!!!!
Let me start by saying this place will try to take you for every dime you have while you live there & especially while moving out. Management, Jennifer Hayes in particular is extremely RUDE and unprofessional. I had them change the batteries in my smoke alarm. They told me it was going to be a $5 charge. I would think this would be included in my rent, but since it was only $5, whatever. I was going to add $5 onto my check at next months rent, but in the mean time I received an email from Jennifer Hayes telling me I owed $5 and if I didn't pay it within X amount of days I would be charged a late fee. (Really?! It's $5) This was strike one. When I went through the moving out process it was a nightmare! According to the lease you have to go into the office in person and fill out a form (move out notice/notice to vacate) 30 days in advance to the day you will be out. My lease ended March 31, 2015. February is a short month. February 29th, 2015 was a Sunday and the office is not open on Sundays. I am a registered nurse and work nights, I also was not living at the property since October 2014 because I moved in with my boyfriend in his house. Needless to say after working 3 night shifts in a row I drove over to the complex to turn in my move out notice on March 5th, 2015. Therefore, they prorated my rent for the month of April 2015. It was $150 for 5 days plus the cost of water and cable TV for those 5 days, even though I turned in my keys to the complex MARCH 30, 2015. They took this money out of my $200 deposit. THEN..... When I moved in I was told by the girl I signed my lease with that when you move out you have to clean the carpets by either hiring a professional or renting a rug doctor from lowes or home depot or somewhere like that. For a one bedroom apartment with only 792 square feet I wasn't going to pay a professional, especially since I only lived there from March 2014- October 2014. So I rented from Lowes. I repainted the walls back to white, because I painted when I moved in, cleaned the carpets, cleaned the apartment completely, etc. The apartment looked immaculate when I left, better than the condition I received it in. (I can only imagine what some of the apartments look like when people leave, especially the ones with pets in them). On April 7th I received a threatening letter in the mail from Jennifer Hayes, stating that I did not get any of my $200 deposit back because of the whole "late move out notice" bullshit and they said I didn't have my carpets "professionally" cleaned. When I called to tell them I did clean the carpets they stated they never said I could rent a rug doctor from lowes to clean the carpets, therefore I now OWE THEM $33.34 on top of not getting any of my deposit back. This is just SOME of the mess/headache I had while living at this complex. While I was living there they had some shingles on their roof blow off in the Spring due to wind. Some of the roofing shingles were blowing around in the front of my building and ended up scratching the side of my car! I drive a black 2013 VW Jetta and had to pay to have the whole drivers side of my car repainted! I went into the office to tell Jennifer Hayes and friends about what happened to my car. They could care less and didn't offer any assistance. I then asked if they had a garage available so I could store my car. I lived in building 4 and if you have ever been to the complex the garages are poorly located, as well as the dumpsters (I had to put trash in my car and drive it to the dumpster), there are no garages even close to building 4, but at this point I was angry and willing to walk to my building. They had no garages available, of course. And no offer to let me know when one would be available, if ever. Also, when I moved in my oven did not work and I had to have them come in a bring in a new circuit board for my oven. My patio door dead bolt lock was also broken. I could go on, but this is long and you probably aren't reading anymore anyways. Don't waste your money at this complex!
Biggest mistake ever, Holly and Jennifer where so nice nice at first the rude and took $100 of mine, which was not theirs to do. I guess it's some secret thing you have to pay. Read and check up on this company, wish I would have, they are horrible and bad to work with, will never advise anyone to work with them or ever do business with them. They will smile and take your money!
I lived in Whispering Ridge apartments for a year and a half and have nothing but good things to say about the place. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Management was very helpful and understanding when I had to terminate my lease early due to transferring for work out of state. Also, any time I had a maintenance request (which was rare as the apartments are fairly new and in good condition), they had the problem fixed within a week tops. The complex is in a great and safe neighborhood and very conveniently located. They are very pet friendly, and although there used to be somewhat of an issue with people not picking up after their pets, management has resolved this by starting a "poo prints" program. Although the one time fee for this program might seem ridiculous, I definitely thought it was worth it because it has made such a difference on the cleanliness of the grounds. I have seen some bad reviews about the complex not having enough trash bins and the receptacles always being overflowing, but I personally never had any problem with this, as the one near my building was not widely used. As far as noise level goes, I never had a problem with hearing any of my neighbors, other than when people were stomping around above me, and also you could easily hear things from the shared hallway. My one and only complaint is all of the large spiders that made their way into my apartment. I would definitely take advantage of the free extermination offered a couple times a month.
Biggest mistake I made deciding to move here short-term. The complex is in good condition, however the representatives are extremely rude. I was looking for a 6 month, short term lease. I thought I was getting into a 6 month contract, however will end up paying 7 months rent. The buildings are not safe. There have been a number of nights I come home to Sherif's in the parking lot.
