I have had a great experience here! My fiancé and I are trying to apply here, and we have received nothing but great customer service from Megan, and the rest of management. Megan has dealt with us the most, and she has put our needs first the whole time. She has been great!
I liked the place, I think I was lucky that I had good neighbors though. We too had the issue with maintenance not taking their shoes off, knowing what they're doing, staining the carpet etc. they also set times and if they couldnt make it they didn't call to confirm and then would just go in to the house the next day (or sometimes a couple days) later without consent. It's just a matter of enforcing rules. One more thing was that all the parking spots were always full, I never had my "designated" spot open and needed to park pretty far away. I really think some signage would help address that issue so people use the overflow and not all the extra resident spots. Staff was always friendly.
Honestly, a lot of the residents here are rude. One of our neighbors threw a bag of dog poop into our other neighbors truck box. We have lived here since May, and we have had electrical issues 3 times now, and the last electrician I had talked to said that he has been fixing this same problem for this complex for years, and has told them to update, and they won't. The location is great, I work in new Prague, and it's an easy commute being right off of I35. The walls are literally paper thin, our neighbors some how find it appropriate to blare their ghetto music starting at about 1015 every night.. The cops have been notified twice now, as well as the office, and it continues to happen. When you have a maintanence issue, the maintanence team is usually timely with fixing the issue (for me anyways), and I have never had an issue with them "breaking in" without consent, I have always been asked first. Ryan is awesome. I haven't had any issues yet with the office, aside from asking if the electric problems were an emergency (while my food in the refrigerator, and freezer slowly go bad), but I haven't dealt with the "manager," and from the sounds of it, I hope that I don't have to. Christa and Megan have definitely been awesome, though. I pay 1,339 for a 3 bedroom townhome, and definitely do not feel like the place is worth that. I recommend the place if you're a night owl, and don't mind the blaring music every night, otherwise I don't recommend this place.
I have lived here since the summer of 2013. And at first I loved it the staff was so nice and everything was smooth as a daisy. But then D&K living took over and put new staff in there. I miss the old manager and the old staff so much they made living here a dream to want to come here. And now I've put many maintenance requests in. And tried following up with the manger and no response. Also I've had them call my work and got yelled at to the extreme, I really think that this place now is a joke and really, the staff needs some re-training on some things. I really don't wanna live anymore. And won't be extending my lease with this company. Cause I really love the location, but I do NOT like the staff nor the management. This place is ridiculously high for rent. And it might be listed as a town-home but it's not one I can go to apple valley and find one for the same price and a three bedroom. So I really don't recommend living here. I've tried working with the staff, Emailing back and forth, and also doing everything in my power to get along with staff. Also we have had two floods in our home while living here and yes they got services on it right away BUT they had fans not only did we not get sleep, But it pulled up our electric bill.and we complained and they didn't do anything not even a sorry letter or just a plain i'm sorry. Just that if we want it done then they have to put fans in there. Which is fine but the fact of the way they said it was on real. And also it happening again in the same year i might add, Is completely ridiculous, And also our A\C was not working good and we went to Dakota Electric and had them come out and test the ac unit. And they said that the office should replace the unit. And they never did the only thing the office did was give us a ac unit timer. Which is stupid. Also i might wanna add, When the last flood we had when guys were in my home the moved my dog kennel with the dog in it and faced the kennel to the wall. where my dog couldn't see anything that really make my heart skip a beat. Not only of the facing towards the wall, But the fact that she was being moved when she was in the kennel. That should've never happened I really hope things change for the better.
Enter at your own risk. This place is horrible, especially since they got new management. The property manager is rude and just outright mean. They don't care about their residents and the office staff is very unprofessional and so phony that might be why they have such a high turn over. maintenance doesn't respond, and if they do they can't even use manners as to take their shoes off when they enter, they are poorly trained and will even tell you they don't know how to fix things. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They don't plow in the winter time so be prepared to be late for work. The kids around there run wild. OH and don't forget that they maintain the office area very nicely however, good luck having the area that you pay for maintained properly. Its was a waste of money. They lie to your face and try to cover up everything then take you through the ringer with a smile on their face especially the property manager, she needs to have someone teach here a lesson in life. You can't treat people the way you do and expect them not to say anything. I am searching every place on the web and social media to leave these reviews because Southfork Townhomes is a toxic place to live.
