Been living here for a month, I received a note saying I was late on my rent. But how? When they made me pay my rent for that month prior to moving in, anyway I went ahead and paid them again at the end of the month the money that they said I owed for that month. Today I received an indiscreet note stuck to my door, along with a post card attached to my door, this however was in an envelope. The note read; "you must have my rent in by November 1, otherwise they will process paperwork for the possession of my home along with a $45 fee." What type of mess is this, at least put the note in an envelope or something, I don't need the neighbors reading my business (so unprofessional). But the card was in an envelope welcoming me to the complex. I was supposed to have an accent wall, (I'M STILL WAITING). thats not how you conduct business Oakcrest. GET IT TOGETHER.
oakcrest towers is horrible the customer service is really bad from the manager to the reps no one ever seems to have answers the apartments are ok but over prices and the gym is nothing but a studio wit 3 tred mills thrown in it
2020 was the cell block I lived in until last week, for the price you are asked to pay I just don't see the value of it the parking lot was always full So I had to park in the visitors parking a lot and to come outside almost every week to a busted car window. Security that was hired is a joke they are pretty much mall security just driving around with their flashing yellow lights. The building was well kept except two months ago the side entrance had sewage on the floor near the elevator took them weeks to fix this. Oh and don't bother with calls to maintenance they take so long I think the second coming of Christ might happen before they show up to fix anything. The buildings are pretty much quiet not to many parties for the amount of young adults living there. But the weed good god I don't know who lived down the hall from me but geez they must grow it as much as they smoked it the hall smelled of it most of the time. For the cost they should have washers and dryers in every unit and maintenance should not take months to repair simple stuff. The sad part is they a so quick to give you notices and paper work if the rent is late but don't put the same effort to getting residents requests done. I had grown tired of calling the resident management office and put my efforts into finding a new place to live. I think this place could do with some new management I would move back if they went under New management with a lot better maintenance.
I've been living here for about 2 years now in building 2140. I love it here. Everything is so convenient. I love the mini mart. My building is well kept and always clean. What I don't like about oakcrest is that the entry way into the parking lot of 2100-2140. There is one way in and one way out. So if you live in the back of the complex and want to walk to Penn station you have to walk all the way from the back of the lot up to the front and all the way down Penn ave. I don't understand why there isn't a back gate or walking path for people who live in the back. If there was something tragic happening in the front we would be trapoets and couldn't get out. I also hate that FedEx and ups can never get in the building. Please give the companies keys to enter the building. I don't drive and had to find a way to get my packages from upper Marlboro because they never can get in the building. Maintenance is horrible. Was suppose to get my tub repainted 6months ago. I gave up. Took them 3weeks to fix my broken fridge. My carpet was not placed down proper so I have runs in my carpet. Balconies she be a little safer. Openings on the balcony are a little to wide. Need more seating area at the grilling spot by the tennis courts. Cost to much money to rent the party rooms and pool area. It should be cheaper sense rent is a little pricey. Can't have small dogs had to give money away. You can only have one wall painted and it has to be from a selection of colors they chose.the life gaurds at the pool are young loud and ghetto and don't do nothing but blast loud gogo music and cuss and smoke .my hallway smells like weed occasionally which really didn't bother me much until I had a baby. I like having washers on every floor. The neighborhood is clean.fitness center is great. They are really strict about paying rent on time but take forever to fix problems in your household. Other than those things. Its a nice place to live. My biggest pet peeve is not having an open path to walk to the back of the neighborhood to get Penn station or out of the neighborhood if something was to happen at the front. That is dangerous and a emergency hazard.will be writing cooperate and several fire stations and the chief of the ems to get that fixed. Please change it. Pleaseeeee
I have been at oakcrest towers for 7 months and I love it here. No bugs halls are cleans 7 days a week. The people that live in the building are very nice. We have mostly senior and I like that alot. We have kids in the building but there parents don't have them running all over the buliding. There could not be a better place to live than here. All utilities included for a small fee is not bad. I am here to stay.
