Pros: - Quiet most of the time. - Very rare to find babies or kids. - Maintenance is top notch - they respond very fast and are always polite. - Leasing Office staff are friendly and usually accommodate most requests. - Pools are clean and kept up consistently. - Their gyms are good if you're looking for treadmills and bikes. Don't expect to get a god weight-lifting workout though - Great location. Close to downtown, close to the beaches. Costco, Ralphs, Food-4-Less, two malls, and restaurants are all nearby. Cons: - Too Expensive. The rental rate does not accurately reflect the market rate for a similar apartment in Mission Valley. For example, the Promenade, which is a much nicer and newer apartment complex, is similarly priced. They claim to have 98% occupancy, which is why they charge so much in rent, but that claim is inaccurate. - If you live in the pet-friendly side, watch where you walk. The residents do not pick up after their dogs, and I've stepped in dog crap more than once. - The apartments cannot insulate cool air. Expect the A/C to be on 24/7. - Parking is tough, especially at night. There's always a spot, but sometimes you'll have to park far away from your unit. - There's a creepy old dude that sits at the pool and watches the girls tan. - Someone from maintenance brings their entire family and relatives (20+ people) during the summer months to play around in the pool almost every weeknight. - Traffic picks up a lot around rush hour. Gets a little annoying if you're trying to get home. - Outdated kitchen design. Overall Feeling: If the rent wasn't so high, I'd consider extending my lease. But at their prices, it just doesn't make sense to stay. There are cheaper and better apartments in Mission Valley. The overall quality of life was good which made our stay pleasant.
