Signal pointe is the worst place I've ever lived in. We had termites twice, there is dog poop everywhere, people don't leash their dogs (including a woman who currently works at the leasing office), and the workout equipment is falling apart. I was bit by a neighbor's dog and reported the bite to animal services and management. I made it a point several times that I didn't feel safe when walking my dog as a result of the dog bite and they didn't do anything about it. This person and her aggressive dog still live there (several months following the bite). I recommend you stay away from this place.
DO NOT LIVE HERE. Severe mold issues from several floods/leaks prior to us moving in. Maintenance is incompetent and tried to convince me that the mold droppings on my counter was coffee grinds and dirt. When they finally came to fix the issue they did it completely wrong and just released mold spores into the air. For months I suffered from hives, pink eye, sore throats, and a plethora of other mold allergy illnesses that I'm still dealing with 5 months later. The only way they let us out of the lease scot-free and paid us back our deposit is when we hired an outside team to test the air for mold and inspect. They ended up discovering a wall full of mold behind the dishwasher. It was completely sickening. I really wanted all my money back because they put my life in danger and lied about the condition of the apartment but since new management had just taken over, they denied. In addition to mold there were spiders everywhere, cockroaches, lizards, and even a black snake in my kitchen. TERRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. HIGHLY OVERPRICED. You know the neighborhood and apartments are bad when the leasing agent can live there for free and he doesn't.
Pros: Great looking, well-kept property, maintenance staff is extremely fast, nice recreational amenities, amazing staff (Sarah!) Cons: High price that raises every year (final price of $890 for my 500-something square foot 1 bedroom). I lived in this complex from 2011-2013, and I very much enjoyed it. I never had any major issues. The property is attractive, and the assistant property manager at the time (Sarah) was the most helpful and pleasant leasing agent I have ever met.
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The day I moved in, I found that there was a roach infestation in the apartment I was assigned to. The roaches were everywhere! The roaches were coming out of the dishwasher, underneath the refrigerator....It was by far the worst apartment experience I have ever had. I was disappointed because I had signed for this apartment months in advance. I felt that any problems with the apartment should have been known and taken care of. When I complained to the office staff they refused to move me into another apartment. I had to contact corporate. The staff in the front office was rude and they weren't helpful. Considering the situation, if I were Signal Pointe staff, I would have done everything possible to make the renter happy after moving into a roach infested apartment. The staff did not do their duty by ensuring the apartment was ready. After days of requests and complaints, Signal Pointe reluctantly transferred me to another apartment... Once I began paying rent, I noticed that rent was a lot higher than I expected. My rent for a signal was always closer to $1k for a 1/1 each month due to the extra charges they tack on. As far as Signal Pointe property, it reakes of dog feces because other renters do not pick up after their dogs a; neighbors are noisy-constantly arguing and fighting and playing loud music. One positive- the maintenance is good. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you are a grad student/student like I am, or have a family, rent somewhere else.
Do not move in this place. Cockroaches, ants, nasty neighbors, water damage, poor maintenance, lies. That's just the start of the list. If you live below anyone, you can hear everything they do. Every footstep, sneeze, fart.... You get the drift. It's dusty all the time even with a high end air filter. We were lied to and after moving in found out from the neighbors that the place has flooded at ground level several times. There are old water stains on the ceiling, and if you have any leaks, good luck getting them fixed. I just cleaned black mold off my wall for the third time. This is the new management too. They mark things complete when they are not. People that live here are rude, to top it off. People's dogs shit everywhere, there's never any parking, and God forbid you park in someones spot and not realize it, you'll get a nasty passive aggressive note taped to your Windows. I just smashed another German Roach as I was typing crawling up my kitchen sink. Massey guys have been here 9 times now. Still bugs. Don't get me started on how loud people screaming kids are stomping and running up and down the stairs. And forget living here if you smoke, it's not allowed at all anywhere on the property or in your home. Keep looking. Over priced rent.
