Still living here and I've only had a few problems here and there. The people have been very pleasant to work with when I have any issue. It is an old building and a few things like an A/C leak and a clogged drain have happened, but they have fixed them. It took a few phone calls to make sure that they fixed them, but like I said, these are old buildings and they have alot to fix all around so it's not surprising that they need to prioritize the more important fixes. One of the kids did destroy one half of my double pane sliding glass door, and that took forever to fix (almost a month) because they had to get approval from upper management. That being said, they did come and clean up the glass and make sure that it was still able to be used while we waited for the repairs. Other than those things, I've had no issues whatsoever and can generally go about my life reasonably hassle free living here. The newly painted and filled pool is very nice as well as the ample parking. I still haven't looked at the fitness center though!
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE PLACE!!! 10 months to clear the drains for our tub (took over 15 hours to drain), 12 months will no progress to fix the leaking faucets (caused mold to grow), 2 months without a working stove, office personnel will "claim" to enter maintenance reports if you call, maintenance will also claim they've fixed things when they haven't. Police are out here on a daily basis for a number of things ranging from breaking & entering to domestic dispute
This is the worst apartment complex in West Lafayette, IN for sure, probably worst even in the United States. In my opinion and experience, the new management staff that has been hired at this property(under Friedman - so that there is no confusion) is hopeless, arrogant, inefficient, incompetent. I am able to say this as I have stayed here for more than 4 years under different managements. The staff in the leasing office are least bothered about the residents once the lease is signed. Don't fall for any sweet talk before you sign the lease, because its immediately going to vanish once you ink on the dotted line. And do not be fooled by the affordability factor, because the rent they charge is actually expensive when you consider the overall apartment age, condition, and quality of life when living in Sagamore ridge, Parkway apartments and town homes, or Whispering winds. They also levy additional charge for water and trash (trash and pet waste which is strewn all over the property). Please for heavens sake do not stay at this property ever. I just thought I will share my experience.
If I could give this a no star I would, we've been without A/C for two days now it's 90 degrees outside and it's 80 in my apartment, last week we notice it wasn't working properly so we called the office and put in A work order a maintenance guy came and "fixed" it said he'd be back the next day to check on it .. Did he ever come back? No, so for the past week it has kicked on and off.. Now we've had no A/C for two days , and I have a newborn . I've called the office they sent a guy over that said it was "overcharged" and "fixed" it.. The guy JUSTIN in the office told me the maintenance guy stayed until it went down to 61 in here to make sure it was working well when I got home my apartment was at 78 and it wasn't working.. I just called the office AGAIN and spoke to JENNIFER "the manager" of this shit hole and she gave the excuse that their short staffed in maintenance guys this and that.. Ever since I have lived here in October 2014 it takes me around 2 months just to get something small fixed.. Like an air filter for example it took them two months to do I put in several work orders over that period of time.. When I first signed a lease they gave me the wrong apartment which was in one over across the street (dump) and I went back to office and told them about it we had already had our uhaul fully loaded moving from Indy to move in they showed me a model of the apartment I was getting when I came to look and thought that's what I was getting but the one I got WAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT APARTMENT THAN THE MODEL THEY SHOWEd, they tried to tell me they wouldn't have one ready for TWO WEEKS. I don't have family here and couldn't just move all my stuff back to Indy so I had to complain and argue and threaten to take them to court , so they let me stay in a temporary until the other was ready.. We were told the pool was an amenti here and they haven't even opened the damn thing yet they keep saying oh next week.. My neighbors smoke their cigs inside the hallway not outside which is about 12 stairs they have to go down to smoke cause their lazy asses , well the smoke was coming through my apartment and once again I have a newborn called management did nothing about it, same neighbors leave their trash bags full outside their door for two weeks it reeked and could smell it coming through my vents, (that's how people get bugs) called management did nothing about it so I had to take that into my own hands.. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM , THESE APARTMENTS ARE SHIT AND THE OWNERS HAVE CHANGED THREE TIMES AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED !!!
I only gave it one star as i had to give it something . This is the worst management company ever. My disabled daughter constantly had to ask to have her heat fixed and went several weeks without any before they finally authorized the repairs. The walls are super thin or the neighbors are super loud when she asked manager Jennifer Barnett to do something about it to please ask them to be quiet she stated managers do not do that. My daughter said she would call the police out and Jennifer stated that she is not allowed to call the police it is not her property or place to do so. With my daughter being young and not knowing how rent life works they took complete advantage of her forcing her to pay for 50,000 in rental insurance . Please check your lease it is in there as a demand. They are obviously getting kick backs on your money. The building itself is old and in serious need of updating and weather proofing. A man who was filling in for Jennifer by the name of Justin told my daughter he needs a note from her doctor regarding her disability, THIS IS A NO NO it is against the HIPPA and ADA act. They know she is disabled as she had to show proof of social security disability income before move in. If anymore harassment of my daughter continues my attorney suggested i sue them in small claims for the ADA and HIPPA violations against my daughter. We shall see how it goes, think twice before you move in here to an uncooperative staff, crime filled ghetto.
