The setting is peaceful and the office is very nice while you live there. The security is a bit iffy(mailboxes were broken into several times so you are warned to promptly get your mail every day). The negatives are inefficient and outdated air conditioners that led to high $200+ bills and did not even cool very well. The buildings are not well constructed and you will get spiders and assorted outdoor creepy crawlers in the warmer months. Our neighbors needed an exterminator as there unit was really bad. The kitchen was large but the appliances and electric stove are very outdated for the price of these apartments. The walk in closets had rods but no shelves above just empty space on top of polls. We had a large garden tub which is nice but the plumbing is not the best. There was also not usually enough warm water to fill despite ever increasing water bills from the complex. When you leave you are charged for two months of water/sewer, etc.. This is standard for them so don't bother complaining. Our carpet was so cheap and thin we had to stop using our Dyson and purchase a cheaper vacuum because it was pulling up the carpet. Upon leaving they took our security deposit of $600+ plus we received $850 bill for insufficient notice despite upon telling them we would be leaving at the end of our lease we were told that we would not owe anything further. Carpet charge$100 cleaning$100 painting $100. Again these are standard charges don't complain as they don't care. Despite Colorado law they failed to hold onto a watch that was left behind and blamed the cleaning company. They also lied about sending back a package that was delivered after we left as there is delivery confirmation although it was left at the door so it could have been stolen. Our neighbors had a computer delivery stolen last summer. After leaving you are told and repeatedly called with robocalls warning you have 45 days to pay or be reported to a credit agency so factor having the extra money when you move as no one escapes extra charges after living there just consider it as a moving expense. I have yet to hear of anyone not owing when they leave. Also a known fact is the crazy rent increase to renew your lease. Less well known is that it is only a starting negotiating point and never take the first offer. Our first renewal was offered at over a $300 dollar increase and was reduced to about a $200 offer later but we chose not to renew. Our place was subsequently rented at about the same price we were paying. Just things to be aware of. Make sure you sign your initial lease for the full amount of time you plan to stay. Our neighbors started with a short term lease and did not know they could negotiate at renewal time and they ended up paying a lot more than us a month for the same type of unit and it was hard for them financially,
Moving in was a breeze thanks to crystal and becca. Crystal showed us the property and was incredibly helpful answering all of our questions and concerns. Becca made our move in day comfortable and easy. These apartments are beautiful, quiet and cozy with stunning mountain views and the amenities are wonderful. The community is great for anyone. From young to old. The village at bear creek knows how to make a house a home. Comming home has never been so welcoming.
I have been here for 5 years now and if I need a new appliance and or repair they are right here. I am a little worried now that there are new owners hopefully they will keep the standard of living up. I have never had a bug problem and I live on the first floor, if there was a problem I know they would take care of it right away. I will update on the new owners.
The best amenity of this apartment community is that it is adjacent to trails etc. I've lived in Village at Bear Creek for less than 5 months & so far I am underwhelmed even with the trail system. Upon moving to Colorado we rented a 2 bed 2.5 bath townhouse here at Bear Creek. The appearance is very nice throughout the community.. HOWEVER, I have had problems with appliances & plumbing every single month. First the oven was smoking even after I cleaned it, then the refrigerator started to smell like something had died in it. The smoke detectors went off for no reason (not a low battery either); the toilets stop up all the time; a handle broke off a toilet; then the washing machine started leaking all over the floor; and then the handle for cold water at the kitchen faucet came off. As I write this review I have 2 of the 3 toilet out of commission. I am extremely dissatisfied with all of this considering the rent is over two grand a month. For that much money I expect better quality. Other problems I noticed outside my townhouse are the shingles missing from the roof over the garages across the street (I can see them from the 2d floor) which may lead to water damage of any property being stored in them & the gutters throughout the neighborhood that are totally clogged. So, it looks nice & is better than section 8, but quality wise I've had better in military barracks and spent less on the mortgage of the house I just sold.
Great place to live. Customer service is great
