I lived at Valley View for about a year and was happy with all the amenities provided and the quick and friendly response of the maintenance crew. Tennis courts, volleyball, swimming, and a work out room all came in handy. Maintenance crew kept everything clean, I believe they come around to clean each building at least once a week. Management was friendly and willing to work with tenants best they can. Hardly ever hear neighbors from their apartments. One and only complaint is about the insta-changing water temperature while showering. It could go from comfortable to way too hot or way freezing without warning, making you jump out of the way. Overall, nice looking premises and friendly, attentive staff.

I've live here for almost one year. The grounds are kept clean. The hallways and other public areas are clean. Maintenance shows up right away for problems. (I've had to have them about three times now). The management is friendly and bends over backwards to resolve problems. I hardly hear my neighbors in my apartment. The only complaint I have is for the AC setup. I sleep in the living room lately. The free heat is awesome and had the heat on the first setting most the winter. Parking can be a pain if you get home late, but I've never had a problem finding a spot. I like getting free breakfast everyday and the tanning and workout room really make the rent reasonable.

I've lived at Valley View for a year and two months. We renewed our lease, so that says a lot since this is the first place I have ever renewed a lease in my six years living in an apartment in Madison. The rent is completely reasonable, especially when considering a continental breakfast M-F, workout room (with decent equiptment), tanning bed, and swimming pool included with the rent. Maintenance shows up not long after you report a problem in the apartment to the main office. The office staff are friendly and helpful. The electricity bill is the cheapest I've had in my whole six years of living in Madison. If you have a pet this place is very accomodating. Pet waste stations are set up throughout the property and the property is big enough to walk your pet if you don't feel like driving to the dog park. If you have a puppy it is a great place to socialize because there is always someone else walking their dog around the grounds as well. I would definitely recommend getting a ground floor apartment if you have a dog. If you do not have a pet and are afraid of dogs, these apartments are certainly not for you.

Valley view managers take the "lord" part of Land Lord way to serious. They look down on all the residents as trash. The manager is the worst. After viewing an apartment I put down a $100 hold on the apartment. At which point they doubled my deposit, tried to raise the rent and forgot about the gift card I was suppose to get for filling out an application within 24 hours after viewing the apartment and told me I could not get the 100 dollars back even with the change. There is no where near enough parking and the place feels more like a ghetto everyday. I am currently filing a law-suit for what they did when I moved out so I can not go into that yet.

My girlfriend and I lived at Valley View from 2005-2007 and were generally impressed. The rent was relatively cheap. Even when our neighbors were being loud (i.e. you could hear their TV or music while in the hallway), you could not hear them while we were in the apartment. We never heard the neighbors next to us and only rarely could hear the neighbors above moving about. We found the parking, maintenance, and front office, and workout room more than adequate. The air conditioner was not able to cool our entire one bedroom apartment due to the setup. The apartment was not the nicest. We weren't thrilled with the neighborhood. All in all, I'd recommend this place for those with limited income and/or just starting out in Madison.
