This apartment complex is very clean, has good people in the office, and friendly neighbors. I recently moved out and had lived there for over 3 years. Management Company changed about a year ago and they have made some good changes. They added more parking lot lighting, are switching out old appliances, and changed some flooring in the hallways. They keep the place clean and really seem to care about the residents. Some residents don't clean up after their dogs, but the maintenance guys are always out there picking it up. I loved the lake and that they had kayaks we could use at no charge in the summer. I had to relocate for work, otherwise I would still be there.
Current resident at Lemay lake. I spotted few things which are very visible to naked eye. 1) There are no street lights operating at night. This makes it very scary to even get out. The street light opposite the shell business center is not operational. Other street lights inside the premises are too not operational. Can management spend some bucks to improve the overall experience around the building by fixing the street lights around the office building. It looks like some remote village and not Eagan. 2) The entrance to building itself is shabby. There are spiders running around at the entrance top. A simple Gaze will make you aware of the horror building. 3) There is smell in the entrance of the building, which one makes wonder why the management charges so much for maintaining the building and spending less on hygiene. 4) Even the underground garage is kept unclean. if you walk down the garage, you notice the odor. They charge $20 for underground parking which is unclean, full of odor. They should remove the garbage bins from the garage daily. Management please spend some money for keeping premises safe, lit and garbage/ odor free.\
These Apartments are uncared for. Once you are in and have a problem nothing ever gets taken care of. Buildings are not clean, Laundry rooms are left unclean. They are in the process of selling the property so some stuff gets cleaned up but still not t the best place for your money. Maintenance tries to keep things up but they are told no all the time because there is no money to fix it. They try but run into a brick wall with the Manager. They make things look good on the outside but the building is falling apart internally. For your money there are a lot nicer places.
I lived here for a year and a half until spring 2011. My experience had upsides and downsides. On the upside, these are very nice apartment units. The view was nice, the landscaping was generally nice, and the driveways and lots were always plowed in the wintertime right after every snow. On the downside, the walls were relatively thin, so I could often hear my upstairs neighbor walking around, vaccuuming, or watching TV. Apparently, he or she could hear me too, since I once got notified of a noise complaint after playing music at what I thought was a reasonable level. Investing in some good headphones seemed to fix that problem. Another downside was the maintenance staff. While they were great at getting the parking lots plowed, that's pretty much where it ended. The recycling dumpsters were often overflowing, and despite numerous comments to management, the situation never improved. The community within the complex was a lot different than I'd experienced other apartment complexes I've lived in. There are a number of colleges and schools in the area, and the tone of the apartment culture reflected that. I suppose that's either desirable or not, depending who you are. Overall, my experience was hardly terrible, all things considered. Definitely tolerable, especially given the convenience of being right off I-35E and I-494.
