I lived here for over a year and a half. I only moved because I purchased a home. I have to say the maintenance crew, specifically, Robert and Lazaro are awesome. The custodian woman is wonderful as well. They are on top of the maintenance requests and keep the facilities clean, they are very friendly to work with, and give my dogs some loving every time I ran into them. The office staff are very pleasant as well. Very pet friendly too, we made a host of friends from walking our dogs. My apartment faced toward the pool and whenever we had any loud guests past 10 p.m. it did not last long before they were told to leave. The convenience of location was perfect for me as a grad student at UT I could ride my bike to work in about 7 minutes. I also used the gym a lot and pool as well as the free workout classes. I would recommend Sabina to friends. Thank you.
The apartments and common spaces look nice on the inside but the constant barrage of noise is a major drawback. Every time our upstairs neighbor walks it sounds like an elephant is stomping around, the garbage truck wakes me up every weekday at 4AM to pick up the trash right outside our window, playground shouts and screams from the school across the street are very audible, and we can hear every word as people walk up and down the hallway. The other major problem is the cleanliness and maintenance of common spaces. The elevators constantly break down, the common spaces are not cleaned up quickly (I don't think the grills have ever been cleaned), and it took the office staff over 48 HOURS to remove dog poop (yes, actual poop) from the hallway. Obviously part of the problem is that many tenants are undergrads and don't respect the property but the office staff should do more to keep the building clean and properly functioning.
Been here nearly two years and it has, unfortunately, taken a steep dive. Moving out as a result. No longer the apartments I re-signed a lease with 10 months ago. Apartment complex very poorly maintained and only getting worse, issues with new management. I have discussed it with management in the building (lol) and also the regional office (they are managed by Greystar, btw) but of course, just lip service. "We're doing everything we can", with a thin veneer of contempt. I wonder if it would be satisfactory to them if I was "doing everything I can to pay my rent". It's not. I requested a rent reduction based on how unsatisfactory my living experience has been, but of course I am contractually obliged and was told so very smugly. I think the plethora of reviews repeating the same says all. You would do well to also check out the Yelp reviews regarding these apartments if considering living here. Just checked out the reviews for Camden Lamar Heights apartments, which I had been considering prior to re-signing, to see how residents there are doing- much better, it appears. Regret my decision. Am paying my rent for this month today and frankly, pissed at doing so as this is not the living experience I signed up for. Glad to be leaving. Pros? Units themselves are reasonably nice and well designed. Most of staff very pleasant- too bad that upper management is the poorest I've experienced. Reflected in the downward spiral of building. KEEP IN MIND THESE APARTMENTS ARE BARELY TWO YEARS OLD. This is the first negative review I have bothered to write for any business in my life. They would do well to remember that people try to LIVE here. Ok- now I think I can go submit my rent for the month feeling a bit less annoyed. =)
The apartments look nice, but the sound insulation is terrible. Unless you live on the top floor, noise is going to be a real problem. I can hear everything my neighbor does, even when he just closes cabinets or walks around. Sabina kept the construction next door a secret when we signed our lease, and put us on the side right next to it. The construction starts at 7 a.m. 6 days a week, and is unbearably loud, even from the top floor. If you live near the gym, you can hear people putting their weights down at all hours (because it's open 24/7) because management has failed to install mats to absorb some of the sound, despite promising that they will be installed 4 months ago. The nice amenities can't make up for the constant noise disturbances if you ask me.
