I moved to Pebble Creek from Richmond not knowing the area. This was the first apartment I looked at and decided it was perfect due to a fair rent and location to work. I didn't feel like I needed anything super modern ( which these units aren't!) That's pretty much where the positive feed back ends. I found it rather annoying that the leasing staff repeatedly requested me to return on numerous occasional to resign paperwork due to clinical mistakes, lack of communication and poor knowledge of policy. I also transferred within the community to a larger apartment that had wet, I mean WET, Not damp carpet. I made several complaints about a horrible odor in the unit and was brushed off for several weeks. I paid a large early termination fee to break my lease. The leasing office hours were never consistent and even once hours were emailed or posted they continued to change. So good luck actually finding anyone in the leasing office when you have an issue. I would not lease from PC or even HHHunt in the future. But then again you can always see for yourself.
I truly love my apartment, I do. It's one of the nicest places I've lived and is well maintained. But you know there's more to apartment living than just the inside of your house. Worst office staff ever. Rude and incompetent. Disorganized. You can stand in their office and wait but they will babble on and gossip and talk with each other for days before acknowledging you. Apartment REEKS OF SMOKE. I do not smoke but my house stinks stinks stinks and therefore so does ALL my furniture. Many complaints about this fall on deaf ears. Smoke detector goes off at random and they don't believe me. Hard wired, so no way to turn it off. THIN WALLS. If your neighbors have screaming children, so do you. They (office people) enter without warning or notice and snoop around your house. And when I say snoop I mean snoop, they will mess with your computer if they think it will help them. The maintenance crew is the only good thing about this place. They are kind and prompt.
I work with a company that moves me to a different state quite often. Pebble Creek was able to accommodate me. Very friendly staff and neighbors, a place where I felt right at home away from home.
If I could give it 100 stars if I could. I'm a single, middle aged professional and this is the Best place I have ever rented in terms of location, rent, staff, and neighbors. The property is peaceful. The apartment's super spacious, built in an era when apartments were built to be lived in long term. The rent is especially reasonable for what you get. Kate and the rest of the staff have gone over and beyond in making the community wonderful! Finally, to all the bitchy, whiny reviewers complaining about smokers...Pebble Creek offers non-smoking buildings. this was one of the first questions I was asked. Pets Poop, btw. If you only want to see your pet's poop, by a house or rent a house! A pet friendly complex this size is going to have some poop on the grounds. And as for noise above you, it is an apartment, if you live on the ground floor you will hear people upstairs walking. Again, buy or rent a house if you don't like it!
I moved here Nov '13 with the help of Alicia and Kate. I've lived in plenty of apartments before, but no one has worked harder than these two. They made the transition of moving simple and easy and I cannot thank them enough. There were some issues with smoke smell and they had maintenance fix that quickly and efficiently. If you are looking to move to Roanoke, you won't find a better place than this!
