I loved this place when I first moved here but since the management has changed hands it feels it has slacked. Maintenance isnt as johnny on the spot anymore. Before we would get flyers about air filter changes and they would change every apartment in one day, now they have rescheduled 3 or 4 times and still havent come so I had to have the maintenance come and change it. The way they "fix" things is really not attractive. I dont mean to replace a whole ceiling because there's a crack but dont just slap some putty up there and call it a day. Also, recently I've been hearing gun shots at night. Not very reassuring for me. I do love how convienient the area is to shops but it just feels like the ghetto of Newport News is moving into the area.
Very rough outside appeared center with extremely thin walls. Nice sized rooms, close to highway and grocery stores.
All around wonderful staff, the maintenancen crew tries there hardest tou do what they can do but the place as you can tell from the out side is very old but is still a nice place to live. I didn't give it 5 stars because if the thugs that hang out on the steps in the front of the complex and watch you as you come in. The office always says they're trying to clear them away but is still losing the fight.
I don't dispute that the other reviews are true. We experienced some of the same issues. However, my husband and I were satisfied with our one bedroom apartment here. Succinctly, cons include cramped kitchen, ceilings extremely permeable to noise, spots on the carpet, and a snotty office staff. Pros include a convenient location to the military base, shopping, etc, convenient parking, prompt attention to maintenance issues, and very understanding regional property management. Overall, I would say that we were usually satisfied with our apartment. After all, one must be reasonable when considering the price you are paying for a service. In this area, one may find better options but worse choices are far more numerous.
