Staples Mill has been a nice place to live. I think the current staff in the office is a big change from past management, which is a good thing. Maintenance requests get done faster now. They also have more knowledge of online rent pay questions and such. However, I've requested to have my carpet replaced and a wall repainted and it hasn't been done yet. My apartment is decent, can't complain for the price. I moved here because its close to my work and that's a big plus for me. Overall I would recommend.
I have lived at Staples Mill 4-1/2 years. I love the convenience of its location. I can travel in about a two-mile radius and find everything I really need. In the time I have lived here I have placed several calls for minor repairs. The maintenance staff was always timely and friendly, and I was pleased with how quickly the repairs were completed. I recently had to place a call for a much more critical repair. Maintenance responded in a timely manner, but I was not pleased with the repairs at all. However, I contacted the on-site senior property manager, who contacted the maintenance supervisor, and between the two of them everything was handled in a professional manner as quickly as possible. It is easy to complain, but we also need to take the time to thank the people who do things for us we are unable (or unwilling) to do for ourselves. Thanks Tracy and Chris!
If i could put 0 stars i would! This is the worst place to live EVER! The staff is friendly, maintenance takes forever just to "BANDAID" fix your problem. The stoves leak gas, the first day we moved we had water shooting from our wall. The next day the hot water wasn't working. After those incident we started getting bit by BED BUGS! We came from houses where we never had bed bugs before and we spoke to a attorney and they said that if a complex has had several complaints about bed bugs, they must put it in the lease. They lied to us and said that the exterminator had treated our apartment when really all he did was look around. We called to see what he did and they said it takes 3-4 weeks for the stuff to work. HE NEVER TREATED THE APARTMENT SO HOW WILL THE STUFF WORK. This place is unacceptable by all means. If you are still considering this place after my review, you have been warned and good luck.
Awful people in the office. Turned in my 60 day notice to move and they lost it!! Incredible! I was going to have to stay an extra month but they decided it would be better to save face and let me leave at the end of the lease anyway. As far as the size goes, they are puny. The kitchen is ridiculously tiny. They even give you a half size stove, what a joke! I hope you enjoy the smell of gas and every time you use it be prepared for the smoke alarms to go off. The fridge didn't even work, they had to bring me a new one, which they took from some other apartment and was moldy! Luckily no bugs, other than the myriad of spiders that came in from the back door, which wasn't sealed properly. The windows weren't even insulated properly so the upstairs stayed about ten degrees either warmer or cooler than the rest of the house. The neighborhood is disgusting. Shared laundry that you must walk to unless you shell out the thirty extra bucks per month for the portable ones that take up even more of your already way too small kitchen. So be prepared to wait for the laundry fiesta to be done before you can even attempt to do any of yours. Apparently lots of residents aren't on leases and decide to take over all of the visitor spots, night after night, same cars, same place. So if you have friends tell them to get there before six to find any where to park and not get towed. Upon move out, none of my deposit was returned. I steam cleaned the carpet, and they still supposedly had to replace it, however I was never notified of any move out inspection that took place. They mentioned a few other things but nothing major. $800 gone, and they want me to pay them another $147. I also love how the people that work there had to give themselves a five star rating just so they wouldn't look so bad. Do yourself a favor, go live under a bridge instead of this hell hole.
I was a resident there up until last year, and it was the worst apartment living experience of my life. Tiny rooms, no amenities, problems with roaches, AND Comcast cable was MANDATORY with the lease whether or not you wanted it. The $35 a month I paid to them NEVER showed on my cable bills, so I don't know if the apartment management kept it, or Comcast accepted the extra profit and never applied it to my account. I would not recommend this complex to my ex-husband! If you have no choice but to live here, go live on the streets instead. Trust me.
