The apartment itself is really nice and spacious. But the noise is ridiculous!!!! And the office staff is pretty much nonexistent. I made several complaints about the noise from my upstairs neighbor with absolutely no response!! I called/emailed the office several times (at least 5x), called a courtesy officer(who never showed up or called me back), and went by the office (the staff is never there). The strange this is that I get a response on all my other questions. Before the property was sold and Marshall left I never had this issue. I guess he was the only one who worked in there. The manager sits in the office on her phone all day and makes you feel like you are bothering her if she has to peel herself from her chair to get up and help someone. She can see the office full of people, both leasing consultants busy with new and potential renters and she will not move. It's absolutely ridiculous. For this reason, I have to rate the property really low. The rent is too high to have to deal with the things that I and some other residents I have spoken to are dealing with at this property. It is so sad, because this property has a lot of potential but the office staff is running it into the ground.
Pros:nice sized apartments, nice floor plan(2bdrm room mate plan),nice kitchen(white cabinets, great sized pantry) huge porch compared to the usual sized balconies at other apartments, private(at least my place is facing the trees instead of another apartment). Cons:tweens and teens everywhere(no home training obviously when they continue to stand in the street even when a car is coming at them then look at YOU like you should go around them), management apparently has no screening criteria to move in here despite what they told me when I was looking.Filthy breezways. Rude pet owners who don't pick up after their pets. No rule on having trash and junk on the porches apparently as I've seen everything from car parts to old appliances(microwaves and stoves). Despite advertising as a "gated community" the gate rarely(never)EVER works in the year that I've been here. Just because there are kids everywhere doesn't make this a "family oriented" community. Far from it. There is no comparison to the original Walton owners.
I have been living here for just a little over a year and have nothing but positive things to say about the neighborhood. Granted the gates usually are not working, but gates does not stop a criminal from trailing someone else into the neighborhood and potentially doing something the gates are there to prevent. It's funny when as soon as black people move into a neighborhood it automatically gets degraded to a 2 star place and becomes the ghetto. Black people do not equal the ghetto and obviously many people have never lived in a ghetto. The phenomenon of "white flight" doesn't make the quality of people bad, living in the area. Yes the children can be loud when they play and the do stand in the road sometimes, but once you are in the quite oasis of your home surrounded by all the great amenities for the location and price it is all worth it, to me. The staff has always responded within hours no later than 24 hours to my maintenance complaints, even when I flooded three floors from my washing machine (oops!!!). For the area and for the price (that I am paying!!!, some people may be getting duped by the price), it is a great investment for me and great place for me to live.
