This will be the most honest review of an apartment complex, so if you are considering staying here please read this carefully. I gave this apartment 1 star for the various reasons listed below. This apartment complex has stunning views on its website and floor plans that are ideal for anyone apartment hunting. When you actually get into the apartments or try to see your apartment they have plenty of excuses as to why you cannot see it before hand as we were only able to see it the day of. Inside of each apartment from ceilings to the floor everything is very dated. stoves, flooring, cabinets EVERYTHING. There was water coming in under the paint above our balcony door and there is a strange dip in the floor, whether it is the floor molding or just unsecured it is has been there since we've moved in and it is ridiculous. one of the only reasons this place doesnt get just one star from me is that when our AC broke and there was no air in our home in the dead of summer the did come in and put a window unit in. so that was nice. That being said our AC broke about 3 times before they replaced it. and then afer they replaced it there were continuing issues with it. They say your rent has to be paid by the third of the month but they will but a late payment notice on your door if it isnt paid by the 2nd. you cannot pay them early because they dont have things written up for you to do so. They will tow your car if they think its inoperable. when you ask them about it they will say they will claim the city comes and tickets cars even though the car is on private property and JSO cannot tow from private property. it is something have set up with wreckers to come by and take peoples cars even though they want their rent. how are you supposed to go to work to get them their overpriced rent if they take your car then are magically absolved of anything. Overall it is mostly quiet. you hear sirens due to being close to fire station. there were a couple of shootings within the last few months so that is also an issue. I personally do not know but from other residents I understand that The lake smells and always has garbage in it (I don't face the lake so i cannot say first hand) Although they do have a bug problem of which they try to fix with a bug guy that comes around every month and they charge you for that too. They are also trying to raise the rent. Yeah right like i'll be staying here... You'll be better off going to one of the places next door. They will whoo and tell you everything is great here but it isnt. I always seem to see uhaul trucks in this apartment complex, there are people always moving out of this place which can never been a good sign. Like all the other renters/reviews I am counting down the days until i can move out of this overpriced dump.
By far the worst place I've been in... there was a shooting right in front of my bedroom window and along with other residents our cars got shot at (multiple times), when I went to the office the next morning to talk to the manager about it first she didn't want to talk about it and tried to shoo me off by telling me very loudly that the shooting "did not occur in the apt complex, people think it did but it wasn't in here", just "rumors"... I immediately told her it absolutely happened there as It happened right in front of my bedroom window and my car had bullet holes to prove it... this is when she quieted me down and immediately took me into her office and shut the door so no one could hear... the staff was quick to tell me that it was "my responsibility" to take care of my property and they didn't care that my job is based on using my car to make money... I left the place because I had a fear for my safety, (I couldn't even sleep) and got a whopping $3,000 bill for leaving before my lease was up... in addition to this little "unimportant" story, this place is infested with cockroaches, fleas, spiders, you name it there is poop all over the sidewalks and grass when you sign your lease the staff tells you you'd be paying a $30/$40 additional to the rent for water and sewer fees tops, the first bill is just like they said but all other bills are $100 more than what you signed up for!!!! when I signed the lease they told me one of the walls was going to be painted a color of my choosing, but when I got my keys on the move-in date, not only was the place not ready for me to move in, it was disgusting! so dirty, what looked like dog hair all over the place inside and out, counters, sinks everything dirty... the staff are all idiots, they don't even know where the apts are... I could go on.... let's leave it there, I am glad I no longer live in this awful place where you are not cared for, I pay the same amount of $$$ in a gated community by the town center if you are willing to spend this much money for a place like this, check out southside area and town center area, yes expensive but you will end up paying the same amount of $$$s for a safer, nicer and much cleaner place...
IF YOUR LOOKING TO RENT, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! WORST APARTMENT TO RENT FROM, They only care about their money, 2 shootings within past couple of months, 1 stabbing and still NO SECURITY AT ALL! IF YOU CARE FOR THE WELL BEING AND SAFTEY OF YOUR FAMILY AND LOVED ONES GO TO THE SOUTHSIDE AND RENT THERE, Their staff and maintenance a piece of CRAP! My boyfriend has been on them about the POOR LIGHTING and half of the lights are still out! CORPORATE HAS TERRIBLE SERVICE, they won't return ANY calls and all they care about is having their wallets full! ROACHES AND FLEAS EVERYWHERE, AND GARBAGE IS CONSTANTLY PILED IN THE PARKING LOT FOR DAYS! Like everyone else, I too am counting down the days until my lease expires!
This place is an absolute nightmare. Here's a list of all the things that have happened in the short 4 months that I've been here that are making me count down the seconds until my lease is up: 1. 2 people have been shot here. 2 people in 4 months. 2. My girlfriends bike was stolen right off of our back porch. 3. The parking here is a joke. The parking spaces are entirely too small and it's virtually impossible to find a spot remotely close to your apartment. 4. Our building has a roach infestation from the disgusting people that live here. 5. Hidden fees that the staff will not once mention to you. The only fees the staff will explain to you are the rent and the water fees and that's all you'll see on your first bill. Then you'll get your second bill and it will list all kinds of BS fees, such as "Sewer, Pest Control", etc. All of which will equal up to about $80 or so dollars more than you originally thought you'd be paying. And that will continue EVERY SINGLE MONTH. Then when you call the office to figure out where the hell those fees came from, they will tell you that it's in the fine print on the lease. However, they specifically said when I spoke to them that the only fees are rent and water. 6. The maintenance here is a joke. Our air conditioner broke after only being here for a couple of weeks, and the maintenance actually had the audacity to tell me that the outside unit was old and that if it stopped working, I just needed to go outside and SMACK THE FAN WITH A STICK to get it going again until they could get a new unit installed. I really wish I was joking about that. 7. Speaking of the maintenance, there are 3 laundry rooms in this complex. Only one of which is in reasonable walking distance of our apartment. However, this one apparently had a small fire in it shortly after I moved in and they had to close the entire laundry room until they could get it repaired. 3 months later and it's still closed. I go by it every day, and not once have I seen ANYONE in there doing any kind of work. I now have to drive across the complex to the next closest laundry room to do my laundry. Out of the 6 washing machines in there, only 3 of them work and at least 2 of them are always in use. Meaning I can only do 1 load of laundry at a time. Most recently, I put a load of towels into one of the dryers, and apparently, in the middle of drying the towels, the dryer just stopped working. The machines don't work with quarters. The owners of this complex had the genius idea of setting up a money card system to use on the laundry machines. And the only place to put more money on the laundry card is in the main office and that's only during office hours, which I can never do because I'm always working during business hours of the week. So, in this particular case, the dryer stopped working, my towels were still wet, and I had no money left on the laundry card because I used the last of it trying to dry those towels. Wonderful. Of course the part of the machine that accepts the money still worked. Just not the dryer itself. 8. There are 4 gates to enter and exit this apartment complex. They keep ALL of them closed and locked except for 1. Meaning everyone going in and out of this complex has to go through that 1 gate which makes for parking lot traffic jams. There are more things that I could list here but I think you get the picture. I moved here from the west side because I thought it would be better. This place is actually making me miss the west side. If you're considering moving here, save yourself the headache and don't do it. You can get much bigger and much better apartments for a lot less money and a lot less hassle.
worst place i have ever lived. paid my rent on time every time. had a money order dated for the third turn it in on the 4th early in the morning. and they still wanted a 100 late payment fee. leasing agents are fat and lazy and maintenance is cheap the just keep rigging things nothing gets fixed. parking sucks. overall don't move here ever!!
