Whete to begin? Moved in. Dec. 2014 and can't wait to be out of here. When I moved in my dishwasher didn't work. Put in two separate work orders to have it fixed. They came to "fix" it and it hasn't worked after either attempt. Never used it since I've been here. There was a hole in the wall beside my refrigerator that I hadn't seen or been aware of until we had a problem with RACCOONS living in my walls. Yes RACCOONS!!! When I called and told them there were animals living in my walls they asked me what kind of animals they were... Guess they wanted me to break the wall down and find out. Then they asked how they got in there? Hmmm maybe from the roof that had a gaping hole in it when I moved in and still hadn't been repaired three months later. It took them two weeks to send someone to remove the animals at which point we discovered they were RACCOONS. They cut a hole in my bedroom wall removed the animals and placed sheet metal over the hole.. then told me there was another hole in the kitchen beside my refrigerator from the last time they removed animals that needed patched but I had to put in a work order for it!!! Three or four months later and the animals are back and the hole in the roof still isn't repaired. I've asked to switch units or end my lease but they refused. After two weeks th animals moved on and a week later the roof is repaired. Worst experience I've had renting by far. The staff were rude when I called. Hanging up on me or letting me get the voice mail. There were days i called 10x back to. back before someone answered calling me by name... (yes i ws being a pain calling and stopping by multiple times a day) but I don't pay rent to live in unsafe and unsatisfactory conditions. Biggest mistake of my life.
Where do I begin? I moved in May of 2013 and I will be moving at the end July of 2015. This is the one of the absolute worst places to live in.When I moved I reported to them that my balcony/patio needed to redone, as it looks rickety and unsafe, this was never fixed or addressed. All they did was sweep the leaves from the top and they placed a plastic strip across to "keep water from leaking downstairs." They take weeks upon weeks to address any maintenance concerns. I had to send them a letter threatening to put my rent payments in ESCROW before they finally fixed my AC unit. The "maintenance" workers they hire are lazy, rude, smelly, and very unprofessional. I went almost the entire Summer in 2014 without AC. I had to keep my windows opens and as a result I always had flies in my apartment due to the HUGE disgusting eye sore of a dumpster that sits across from my unit never being emptied on time and the smell is/was HORRIFIC (to point of vomiting). Also my leaking sink 'caused a the ceiling in the downstairs apartment under mine to rupture and spew water into their bathroom. This could have been avoid if they did any real decent upgrades to their property. They will never answer the phone when you call. The managers are never around to address any complaints or concerns. They do not shovel the snow in the Winter time and they do put salt down on the ice, causing many accidents. The pool is one of the most disgusting pools I've ever seen. The "theater" is a joke at best. One top of everything they falsely advertise their current rental prices. You can look up a two bed room at almost any apartment site and it'll say about $555 (which I paid for about 2 years). However, their renting these match box apartments out for $605. Please, please, please DO NOT waste your time or money renting from Walnut Glen! You'll thank me later! They charge you constant hidden fees and blame it on their antiquated computer software when the office staff are too lazy to do their JOBS! They have some of the most unprofessional office staff I've ever encountered in my life. Their new book keeper is very slow, unintelligent, and extremely unapologetic regarding mistakes made on HER BEHALF! They need to fire all of their office staff. Acquire new management. Renovate their entire apartment community and start from scratch.
My experience at Walnut Glen is amazing i love going into the leasing office and speaking with the leasing manager April Walker who has amazing people skills and Christine Reed is by far the best property manager I've ever met

Convenient location to reach local businesses. Office and maintenance staff are efficient and friendly. Newly renovated property locations in progress - looks great!
