I was so excited to move here. Quit my job. Rented a truck. Put a deposit down. Then got a call A WEEK before I was supposed to leave, letting me know the tenant wants to stay so I have no place to live. They should of did something other than apologize and leave me hanging. I'm getting my deposit back but I still have no place to live. So disappointing...
They give me a Studio without light in the room and balcony. Cockroaches in the Kitchen. And Laundry with Coinmach its a pain in the ass, sometimes the machine take your Money. Application and Paperworks are expensive. $$$
I lived in Coconut Palms Apts for nearly 10 years. In the beginning, the complex had its issues (practically no maintenance was done on the weekends), but over time management and maintenance got better (only a short period of time). Over the course of the 10 years, the residency changed dramatically. The best days was with the migrant workers, because they always kept to themselves and worked 7 days a week. The worst were the college students who had no regard for other people. When I left in the summer of 2009, on my side of the complex (near the second entrance), if men (usually harmless) were not hanging out in front of the buildings openly smoking pot, then there were high school and college aged youth hanging out in the parking in large groups and playing loud music. Also, if you got home past eight in the evening, chances were that you would have to part on the street or two buildings away. I had no confidence or trust in management (that is why I did not complain a lot; I just did not know if they would rat me out or not). When I called to make sure they received my notice, the manager actually had the nerve to be angry with me and wanted to know why I was leaving. I was never the victim of any crime and there was very little crime (to my knowledge) on my side of the complex. It is not the worst place to live, but depending on your lifestyle (if you are a student, not too concerned about your surroundings, loud noise at night does not bother you) then the complex is not completely awful.
just moved in.... I LOVE IT HERE!!!.. feels like a vacation atmosphere, i feel safe and at home. I don't regret moving here.. Its a very nice place to live and the office staff is great and have been very attentive especially anna and cody. Maintenance are very professional and quick to come.. they keep this place spotless clean. I feel very safer here here than the lousy gated community that i came from. Im very impressed with the staff...very prompt and curteous service here despite what ive read about and exprerieced first hand with other poorly managed mckinley properties. CONS: I was not told I would have to pay water till it was time to sign the lease--- NOT OK. My light bill was 159.00 for 14 days of service!!!!!!!! I had my AC on about 76 and never touched it since i moved in. Come to find out they have old AC units causing the bill to sky rockett. Good thing im on the second floor.... now I don't turn on the AC at all.. which is good and bad..
