I am pretty sure this has been the worst hotel experience I have had. I would rate a 0 if I could. First we get her and parking is an additional 17 a day for self parking and 20 for valet. The hotel had one line that quickly turned into two and neither of the hosts went by the people who came first in order. They were extremely slow at checking people in. We were told we get a free breakfast. I just went down stairs and no free breakfast. The room would be nice if anything worked in it like it was supppsed to. At least we got the tv to work. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS HOTEL! SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY ON A BETTER ONE, I PROMISE IT WILL BE WORTH IT!
Very rude staff. We booked for 2 nights and called the hotel for late check-in. They cancelled one night for no show.
There is no rating. Sheets were dirty, phones in the room didn't work, toilet ran and ran and ran, bathroom sink was back up, prime rib from the restaurant was rancid, and the front desk staff was rude. The bathroom tile was lit up with mold/mildew. Worst experience EVER. SPEND EXTRA TO GET BETTER!! This place was probably great in its day, but no more! GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would not have given this place one star, but it wouldn't post my warning without it.
I had a TERRIBLE experience at what is supposed to be a "LUXURY" hotel. Nothing was explained to me at check-in as well as unfriendly clerks. One heavy set girl at the desk didn't even look up at me when I walked in for 5 minutes until someone else came to help. I found dead bed bugs and lady bugs in my room. I spoke with the supposedly front desk manager who did nothing to rectify the situation. She only informed me that they "take these things very serious." I let her know that I would be reporting to Trip Advisor and she basically said "whatever go ahead" This was not at all professional. My experience at this particular facility was not what I anticipated. RUDE STAFF and BUGS is not what I anticipated paying for.
The Crowne is a very nice facility. Staff are especially friendly and hospitable. Drivers can take you to Beale Street, the Civil Rights Museum and/or areas around the hotel since it's a five to ten minute walk from the Memphis "scene." Really liked staying here, clean, comfortable beds. Only one complaint: the gym is awful--ceilings are seven feet high and so if you want to jog you must do so with your head in the spot where a ceiling rectangle has been removed. They have to place to relocate the gym. Other than that, great stay.
