Like all of you I read the post on here and said it LOOKS really nice it cant be that bad..HHAA SIKE!..I read review after review and all I can say is that moving here is the biggest mistake of your life! They go through office personal like chew toys. But it started with us being approved and they gave us our move in date and the apartment number. Then on the day we were suppose to pay the second half of our deposit I wanted to see the apartment even tho it wasnt ready because I told him I was not giving him the money until I saw it. He explained how he wasnt suppose to but eventually he did. It was not the same apartment we were shown in the model and the address was completely different. Then through out our 13month, Maintenance was the best thing going for this apartment place. They had maintenance guys that were nice and prompt and got the job done. They lost our rent payment twice, our cars were towed twice because the towing company will hook you up and tow you in seconds because the parking lot does not have clearly marked spaces. We had a serious Ant problem that we couldnt solve neither could pest control. If in an all electric apartment like we were, your electric bill will be sky high like 220 a month not because the ac units in the wall but because of the heat and how it is continuously on so I had to go to the fuse box and completely shut the heat down in all rooms and our bill went from 220 all the way down to 101 a month The apartment had many things wrong with it before we moved in that had to be fixed even after we moved in. We had many arguments with management over them losing our rent payment and about the towing issue. We even seen that signs were not legally posted in the lot and went into the office and threatened to sue for our money back but we didnt but we obviously scared them because a week later new signs were posted everywhere because they knew that they were in the wrong. Now we have since moved seeing that our lease was up and I just want the next person that reads this to know not to move here. Biggest mistake ever
Ive stayed in some pretty bad spots around the city and this one was not bad. Plenty of room, fairly modern, good structure, etc. Maintainance can be a little slow like the other posters have said, but the problems were always fixed. I stayed there for 4 years, but I also had really good neighbors around me. It can be a little transient with folks moving in and out all the time, so you might get a bad neighbor from time to time, but theyre usually gone as soon as they arrive. Im divorced with not a lot of cash for rent, so its a nice spot for someone whos been living in smaller cramped places. For the cost, you cant beat them. Only bug problem I had was with ants. They also have a good bedbug policy in case that happens too. I would love to stay in a place that looks like a $1000 bucks a month/with good neighbors, but is under 500, but there just arent any.
Would you like to be evicted from your apartment for complaining about noisy neighbors? if so, Cornerstone Crossing is the place for you. I was just given a non-renewal and a 30day notice to move out because I complained too much about my very loud neighbor living above me. The staff and Manager (Melissa McNeely and Melissa Evans) are rude and unprofessional. The staff does not want to do any work so they will kick out any tenant who forces them to do their job. I have put in written complaints and called the police due to my neighbors 24/7 noise and the office told me they are asking us both to leave. I do not know my neighbor and we have not engaged in any disputes. The office could have resolved the issue but they chose not to. They told me not to confront a neighbor about any problems and to let the office handle it, but my neighbor never stopped and I never stopped letting them know--so now I am getting kicked out for complaining. I have never been late with my rent in the two years I have lived here and I have never had a complaint against me by the complex (except the time they smacked a threatning notice on my door for shorting them $1.00 on my rent for that month--BTW, your rent will vary month to month and the complex will send you a bill in the mail to let you know what amount you will be paying. It changes from month to month and sometimes you may not get the bill...which is what happened to me that month I shorted them $1.00 and when I asked them about this pettiness, the office staff said they will put a notice on your door if you short them 59 cents)or a neighbor.
Ask yourselves--Is this the kind of community you want to live in? lots of drug dealers and don't dare complain about anything or you will be sorry...I see now that the grass is greener on the other side and they are doing me a favor by making me leave because they don't want complaints. there is very high staff turnover --there is a new set of 20yr olds every month--they like the young ones who they can pay less and take advantage of. If you live here, just be willing to settle for the crumbs they dish out. If you have respect for yourself, go elsewhere where you will be treated with respect...STAY OUT OF THIS PLACE FOR YOUR OWN SANITY!
Welcome to Sh**ville everyone. Poor maintenence if you get it. No customer service even if you get on your knees and beg for it. Whatever apartment you think your getting will most likely be given away and you will be forced to get a more expensive unit or find another place to live(the latter is a better option believe me), and if you choose the more expensive one I personally have seen better living areas in homeless shelters.
I moved into these apartments in late September and it was one of the worst mistakes I made in 2012. I was origianlly looking for a studio that they promptly gave away from underneath me. Before I signed my lease I looked over the whole apartment, and it wasnt in bad shape. A coupleof paint footprints on the carpet and a small crack in the sink was all that was wrong(guess I got the best unit in the entire complex). I was promised by the service manager that the problem would be taken care of within my first month. They ignored the footprints and as for the bathroom sink.....it looks like hardened toothpaste is permanently attatched to the bottom of the basin. Just over six months in and I still have problems with the unit. It is nearly impossible to get ahold of the managers and when I do I'm treated like I am wasting their time.
As for the neighbors I work at three in the morning and there is a car that will sit right outside my window at 11 at night and blare its stereo. Also I am pretty sure my neighbor sells marijuana. I asked about getting this taken care of and there is no reponse.
The only advantage is that it is a relatively safe neighborhood; all things considered. I feel like I can walk out to the mailbox without being mugged.
I am counting down until my lease is over so I can get a real apartment. Please save yourselves the trouble and don't make the same mistake I have
I moved into the apartments on Friday and when I went to pick up the keys in the morning they were still painting my apartment even though I told them I needed the keys first thing in the morning. There were numerous issues in the apartment. One of them being NO heat. Before we moved in someone had been using the heat when they weren't supposed to putting the apartment under investigation by the gas company so we will not have heat for a week so we had to use heaters. As the apartment started to warm up we found out we were not alone. ROACHES started coming out.We spotted nearly 15 and the house isn't even completely warm. We alerted the rental office on Monday after spending the night somewhere else and they wouldn't let us move out without making us pay for breaking the lease. They were rude throughout the entire process and even insinuated we were the ones who brought the roaches. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Do not rent here the cheap prices are not worth the hassle and the poor customer service. We have to sit back and hope the exterminators will be able to fix the problem that we aren't even at fault for. Btw after we moved we found something else interesting that had been left in our apartment by the previous renters. A USED CONDOM in the sink!
