Horrible place to live. The walls are paper thin and neighbors are dirty and do not care about how they live. Maintenance is slow and there is always something wrong with the apartment. Roaches are a problem I have to keep getting my place treated, becasue of my neighbors that just moved in. My bathroom tub is peeling and of course that is not getting fixed anytime soon. This area is very dangerous, I witnessed a shootout right outside my apartment one night and there are cops there constantly. People are always being killed over here (i am not lying look it up, lonsdale and livingston) DO NOT MOVE HERE. My lease is almost up and I am never looking back!
The managers will not work with you. I gave a proper 30 day notice, and for a one month extension on that notice. They told me get moving now, and tried lying about eviction notice process. Worse part; they lied about the apartment being rented out, just to get me to move by force. To add; the new apartment complex I'm trying to move in for renting, they claimed they sent necessary information through fax and email. But the complex I'm trying to move in, hasn't received the information. I'm thinking about making this altercation public with channels 4, 6, or 10; here in Columbus, Ohio; or with any tv or radio network that shed some light of how badly Cornerstone Crossing Apts has treated. The complex is now joined with Eden at Caleb's Crossing Apts. Which might be a transitional name from where I lived in Cornerstone.
I have never put up a bad review anywhere before, but in this case can't keep my mouth shut if it can keep one family from moving here. This is far and away the worst place I have ever lived! We had leaks into our apartment nearly a dozen times, fungus growing from the carpet and walls, when maintenance did actually come to fix issues I had to call again to ask them to finish every step of the process (1. We have a leak in the ceiling 2. The leak is fixed but now we have a hole in the ceiling 3. We have just a piece of plywood for a ceiling 4. There is just unfinished drywall for our ceiling etc) they never completed a job without prompting. Even when I contacted the property manager by email and she promised that she would put in a work order for a leak in our kitchen ceiling (that had been happening off and on for weeks and about which I had called the office multiple times), after 3 days I stopped by the office and no order had ever been put in. They could literally not care less about the health/safety of your family. I know the rent is cheap but save your money, it's worth paying the extra to live someplace that isn't trash. Not a great place for kids as there is glass all over outside, we heard shooting multiple times (my husband was shot at with a bb gun while just taking out the trash one evening) and lots of people dealing/using drugs. Their lease policy is very strict and they impose heavy fees to get out. Can not stress it enough. Do not live here.
I didn't even want to give this place one star, DONT MOVE HERE. The staff is rude, they don't ever take care of damages or issues, no matter how many times you contact them. They try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. They don't care about you, they only care about making themselves money. Everything in the apartment is cheap. It looks nice, but after about a week of living there, everything starts to fall apart. Bugs constantly came in through the windows, the toilets run, the sink clogs, the dishwasher in my apartment wasn't even connected to the wall when I moved in! My roommate and I tried to use it and when we opened it, it fell out of the wall. I moved there because I was going to beauty school and the woman that showed us around when we visited said it was only 10 mins away from school. Turns out it was 30 mins. Yes, I should've googled mapped it, but that was my fault. The point is, they tell you whatever you want to hear. It's in a horrible area, I never felt safe any time I walked outside. I'm a 19 year old girl and I would get followed and watched by old creepy guys while walking through the complex! I made the mistake of trying to go for a walk 1 time and I was followed and harassed within the complex. They claim they have security, but that is the biggest lie I have ever been told. They try to evict you at the drop of a hat, if you turn in your rent a day late, they put an eviction notice on your door. It happened a few times when my roommate and I turned in the rent on time, but we forgot to put the address on the money order. You would think that they could look up our names and check for our address, but instead, they put an eviction notice on our door. No calls or anything to let us know that all we had to do was put the freaking address on the money order! The lease is also bullshit, they tie you into this shit hole for 13 months instead of just a year. They have a swimming pool that they don't take care of. They have a tennis court that has weeds and plants that are 3 feet tall. The washing machines and dryers at the laundry facilities DO NOT clean your clothes, not to mention, they're filthy. Half the time the washers were filled with brown water. There was a leak inside of the wall by the door that you could see from outside. But of course, they don't come around to check things out or fix things when you ask them to, so we had a big hole form in our wall due to water damage and the hole grew every day and nothing was done about it. We never heard from our landlord once the entire 13 months that we lived there. I could go on and on. I just moved out today and it was the best day of my life, so much weight was lifted off my shoulders when I moved out. I'm telling you, it is not worth the cheap prices. Steer clear of this horrible place!
Instead of giving an opinion on this place, I will just list some facts that actually happened while living there for 15 months and you can decide for yourself what to make of it. 1. Saw American cockroachs starting from the second day we moved in. We moved from another state and only had with us what could fit in the trunk, and we've never had bugs like this before. Our neighbors, we spoke with 3 of them, said it was normal and they have always had them. Bug guy came out for several weeks spraying and it worked for about a week but since multiple units are connected, they just scattered to other units and eventually came back to ours. At one point a new bug place came and told us they need to bug bomb the whole place, including other units. We would need to be gone for 4 hours after it, since I have a child and we both have lung issues. First time it was supposed to happen the office put a notice for the incorrect time on there and the guy didn't show up till almost 1pm (notice said to be gone from 9 till 1) so they didn't end up doing it then. Second time the office forgot to put a notice at all and the bug guy showed up on the following Monday morning, we weren't prepared since we didn't get a notice so that day was out. Tried again a different day and they claim we weren't ready (all cabinets and counters clear) but we were, bug said it was another neighbor who want ready because he came to our place first and determined it was. Well after that time we just said screw it and the next notice we got was for a big sprayer to come. After the bug sprayer but came we received a notice that we violated our lease for unsanitary conditions and had 30 days to vacate -- we that's not true so we called them. After calling for hours to get a hold off someone he finally got someone who didn't know what the notice was about. Finally the guy was able to find out the notice was in error and we should have gotten a different one about the bugs (never found out exactly what the other one said but the office claimed it was because we were never ready for the big bomb.) Went to office to get a written statement that we received notice in error, tried finding out what the issue was, they just said they tried several times to do the bug bomb and we were never ready -- they didn't want to hear anything different than that, and at that point I didn't want to fight with them about the bugs anymore (this was February 2015 , we moved in April 2014). 2. For the first few months we paid with money orders because wet never got checks. Well we paid with a check in September and received a notice that they can't take checks from us because of a bad previous check. So we took up proof of all other payments with money orders and they were able to correct it. This happened again the next month, only they tacked on a $30 late fee from previous month. Again went up to show proof and the corrected it. You would think that would be the last time. Nope happened again for our last rent payment for august 2015 -- but that time we paid with money order and they only applied part of our money order to the rent, even though they were given both parts at the same time and had the address on both. Tried calling to get it rectified but the phone just rings for 30 minutes and all mailboxes are full so no messages can be left. It was getting close to 6 so I just drove up there to speak to someone in person -- after 15 of him going in the back he determined it was applied to the wrong account and would be fixed the next day. 3. Our basement window leaked from the first time it rained until the day we moved out. The office was told about that several times over the time we lived there. The wall was growing mold on it in several places and it would pool water in the corner.
