I lived in the towers for over 4 years in three different apartments. I have to say that I have never lived in a place as great (apartment wise) as this. The buildings do not smell smokey, as another person referenced, and they are not a dump. Management always treated me right and maintenance was right on track. The only thing that I disliked was the garbage chute. It had a habit of of carrying odor up to higher floors at times. As far as rent, come on, you don't pay for water, sewer or electrical. And you're blocks away from a huge park, Lucas Field, Indiana Fieldhouse, great nightlife, etc. Plus, the likelihood of getting burglarized here is as close to zero as you can get. If I were still single and childless, I'd probably be tempted to do it all over.
My wife and I moved to Riley Towers almost six months ago. Since that time, we have really enjoyed the hospitality of the management team, and the 24 hour concierge. Our apartment has been a blessing as well! We utilize the hot tub weekly as a fun way to relax, and now have been maximizing the fitness with our morning routine... the amenities are great, and the location of Riley Towers is fantastic. I didn't think to mention it because it is currently winter, but there is also an awesome outdoor grilling / eating area by the outdoor pool that all residents have access to as well! We have enjoyed hosted our family and friends there on a couple of occasions. I would highly recommend renting here, if you want to live in downtown Indy. The management team has gone above and beyond to ensure our parking is nearby our apartment, and the concierge knows us by name. The maintenance team has turned around every request we have had in less than 24 hours. The rent is more reasonable than I anticipated. Current students even get a discount on their rent, which makes it an even better deal. But the leasing agents were very upfront with their pricing and availability which is one reason we are here right now! From my experience, I would recommend checking out Riley!
Super cool. Balconies are really scary tho!
This place is totally overpriced and a complete dump. The staff is great, and they have an excellent website, but neither are representative of the 1960's buildings - smokey, stinky, dirty, OLD. Here is the real kicker: I hired a cleaning company to get my unit spotless when I moved out, and despite paying this company $200 to make the place look better than it did when I moved in, the Riley Tower still kept my deposit and billed me for $75 for "cleaning" and a missing light bulb in the closet!! Ridiculous! I highly recommend that you check out other places before you decide to spend you money renting at this place.
We've been here for almost a year, and we really like it. The staff is wonderful. The maintenance guys come promptly. Riley Towers really takes pride in the landscaping around all the buildings, and it's beautiful. We walk out our front door and we're on the cultural trail. The location could not be better. We're very close to the city parks, and Mass. Ave. We're able to walk to ISO concerts at the Hilbert. And to all the downtown shopping areas and restaurants. Henry's over on East Street is one of our favorite coffee shops, and we able to walk there. Our apartment is bright and open. We have lots of closet space. The view is absolutely amazing! The pool and the workout facility are awesome. We do have to pay for parking, but considering it's pretty much right in the middle of downtown I guess I kind of expect that. The rent is a little pricey, but for the location, the way we're treated by staff, and the apartment itself, we're totally cool with it. The windows could stand to be replaced. And the buildings were completed in the early 60's, so they're not new -- I think that adds to their charm. Anyway, overall we're quite happy here, and we're most definitely going to be signing another lease!
