I lived at the Pointe for 6 months and it definitely had its ups and downs. Maintenance was useless and often ignored major problems. For example we had water leaking from the ac unit behind the wall and it was dripping out of an electrical outlet. Eventually it stopped dripping but maintenance did nothing to stop it from happening again! The neighbors always reek of curry and I swear it must bleed through the walls. But the location is very convenient, prices are affordable and the office staff is nice. Especially Anthony, he made it a pleasure walking into the office everyday! All in all I would still be living there if not for extenuating circumstances and would certainly choose to live there again.
This was hands-down, the worst experience I have ever had in apartment living. The office staff is horrible, with the exception of one person. The drug trafficking is out of hand and the maintenance staff constantly comes into your apartment without permission. In order to buy out of your lease, they completely rip you off and fail to tell you anything along those lines. I would never recommend this apartment complex to anyone.
I lived at the point for two years and while it had both pros and cons I found that it was an overall pleasant experience. The biggest cons I experienced had to do with the parking lot. In certain spots there just aren't enough spaces to serve the nearby buildings and I found that if I arrived home after 9pm (which happened frequently) I would have to park a few buildings away and walk in the dark which is a little scary when I string of break-ins was reported. The spaces are also rather small and people parking over the line is a rampant problem. One morning I was forced to crawl through my passenger side door because someone parked over the line next to me and I couldn't physically walk between our cars. The gym is worthless and that was my biggest disappointment, in the few months I used it two of the machines were always broken, the water cooler was removed, the water fountain never worked though I reported it multiple times, and the room was never properly ventilated. The only way to get air flow in what is literally a sun room with treadmills was to open a back door which would set off an alarm, so in the summer months it was miserably stuffy in that room and impossible to use. The indoor basketball court and pool were another story, both are very well kept and all the facilities are kept behind coded locked doors so I felt very safe using them. The only other problem I had was with the noisy neighborhood behind the Pointe blaring loud music and allowing dogs to bark at all hours of the night. My interactions with the staff is what really made the experience so worthwhile for me, they were always very polite, helpful, prompt, and professional. This was my first apartment lease so going into it I had a million questions, they took the time to answer all of them via phone, email, and in person. All of my service requests were fulfilled in 24 hours or less. When my AC broke on one of the hottest days of the year they gave me a window unit for the night and had my AC back up and running before I returned home from work the next day. When it came time to renew my lease and I couldn't justify paying what they were asking for 12 months the staff worked with me and found another leasing option that was more reasonable and worked for me. Paying my rent was extremely easy through their online service and their valet trash service is worth every penny especially if you live upstairs. So while there was some small hiccups especially with the parking lot and gym it was overall a great experience and I was happy with the staffs performance and the apartment itself.
I have lived at the Pointe for over a year and for the first 8 months had very few issues. The maintenance staff responded quickly to problems and all was well. But I recently renewed my lease and moved to a bigger apartment. I figured that they would be nice to me considering I renewed my lease and chose to stay a resident. That is far from the truth. Any time I have a question, I never get a straight answer, if I even get an answer. They never make any sort of exceptions and are not willing to do anything extra for their residents. This morning, I go out to my car, and it's not there. So I remembered that last night, when I parked, it was raining and most of the spots were taken. I parked next to a car, that was parked over the line, so in turn, I had to park over the line. Well, as a result, my car was towed. It is absolutely ridiculous to have a car of a resident towed. I was considering getting a garage this month, but I will not now, because the Pointe does not deserve any more of my money. I WILL NOT resign my lease when it is up. They lost their best asset, Ashley, the leasing agent, who I signed my lease with!!! She was the reason I signed at the Pointe in the first place. Everyone has their own experiences, but mine has definitely not been a good one!
Good location. Low market pricing but problems that plague any apartment complex. Drafty insulation, weak electrical wiring, etc. Loud neighbors, etc. The staff changes over a lot, there are some really nice ones and rude ones. The maintenance team is similar, some really inept, some brilliant. I like the proximity to renaissance park and the driving range. Quick access to 77 and southpark area for restaurants and shopping.
