Horrible management. Leasing agents are lying to prospective renters on tours - I've overheard it on several occasions now. Waterton should be absolutely ashamed of their lack of integrity and the full-on elimination of a community atmosphere that was kicked off by their takeover. What luck if you get to run into the guy in the back office - clueless, condescending white dude with absolutely NO customer service skills whatsoever. Which is ironic, because the Office seems to relish in rubbing residents faces in the idea that they are trying to run a business. No apartment community is just a business - people are actually trying to make their homes here, believe it or not. I know, what a CRAZY idea, right? That residents aren't only piles of cash for you to vacuum up? Sad also to see that they must have canned a number of delightful staff when they took over. Just gross.
This place is horrible! The people in the management office are less than helpful (putting it nicely) and the turnover there is crazy! They can't keep good help, so it keeps rotating from one person who doesn't know what's going on to another. Most of the time they are quite rude when you walk in as well. The place is notorious for roaches (the big crunchy kind) and bedbugs. They do 'inspections' ALL THE TIME - which is basically the management looking for a reason to get into your apartment and look for things to charge you for. Its not a very secure building - its super easy to get through the front door and often times you'll find people who don't live there hanging out at the pool or in the gym. Very overpriced for the sq footage. They threw some paint, appliances, and new floors in an old building and called it 'new'. Walls are paper thin - good luck hearing your new neighbor who wants to be the next singing sensation or hearing the parties that end when the sun comes up! Don't bother to call security - IF they respond they do nothing. (this is a plus if you like to party - just as long as the person complaining doesn't go to the office, because then they will try to charge you $$ for violating their noise rule). Every now and again you'll have homeless people camped out in the halls or out in back by the dog run. Sometimes they are harmless... sometimes not. LOCK YOUR DOORS!!!! The ONE good thing about this place is the maintenance man (if he is even still there). He was really nice and very helpful. He would make sure things were done to the best of his ability and doesn't sugar coat a situation.
i pay for my extra parking. but some idiots like to park on my spot. you're so tired from work but you're still looking for the security. ask the people in the office they dont know how to call security. if you ask the managers to give them ticket, they say they will but won't. how can you stop people from doing that if you wont impose or be firm on your rules. they arrange get-to-know-the-tenants parties often but when they see you in the gym or the pool, they ask you if you live there. you wake up at 1am or 2am because of the fire alarm. even the fire fighters say it is 99.9% false alarm most of the time. water supply is too slow yet they charge you more than $60 a month. and the noise outside is 24 hours round the clock but security is there standing just looking!.
If you love paying for overpriced apartments, being woken up at any given hour due to the false fire alarms, sketchy smelly homeless people living under the stairs in the garage, then look no further Vida Hollywood is for you!! There are so many noisy ghetto kids that hang out across the street at 1750 location and blare music all night long, good thing they have 24 hour security to monitor the problem... NOT!! You call, they say they'll send someone out, and they do absolutely nothing about it. I've walked into the fitness center on multiple occasions and witnessed the security guard on duty working out. They're supposed to be walking the property to make sure the fire alarm doesn't get pulled. The first 3 months I lived there it went off 6 times.... 6 TIMES all around 3 or 4 in the morning when the drunk non residents are getting kicked out of the apartment parties. The leasing office is fully aware of the "piggy backers" they call it, people who aren't residents but get let in. They say they can't do anything about it because the complex is in a "high traffic area," but keep paying $1470 for your 445 sq ft studio. I spoke with the leasing office multiple times about the false fire alarm pulls, I even called keisha at the corporate office. Her and shanique both very politely tell you there is nothing they can do about it, deal with it.Well can I at least get a discount on my rent? LOL no but you can terminate your lease early (actual conversation). To top all of the problems off they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING when you move out. I received a cleaning checklist and completed everything on the checklist (minus cleaning the blinds) and was still charged an $85 cleaning fee!! what exactly is the point of the list if you are going to charge me anyway?? Well per Shanique I should have received another letter stating that I have to get my apartment professionally cleaned and provide them with a receipt and they wont charge me. HA never got that letter, go figure... not to mention carpet cleaning fee of $60 and the $126.37 to repaint the apartment! If you take a damp paper towel and try to remove a scuff on the wall, the paint literally comes off like chalk. Please tell me again how that is worth $126.37?? Alma was kind enough to let me know that the original cost for repainting was $300 but I was prorated the amount listed above because I only lived there for 4 months. Vida Hollywood is the most pathetic excuse for an apartment complex, seriously a joke. It's like they want YOU to thank THEM for allowing you to live there. In summation: DON'T DO IT!!!! Go to park la brea, go to sunset and vine, go live under an overpass before you even think about calling this abomination home.
I lived here in 1981! Yuck! The neighbors allowed a person to drown in the pool& roaches!
