I had a very great experience at this complex. I lived here almost 2 years and the staff was always friendly with me and attentive to my requests/needs. Rent was reasonable for the location (lowest rate I could find in the area). The demographic mostly consists of families, so it doesn't get too noisy. It's an older complex, but it is very well kept. Two amenities that I loved at this location: Fiddler's Green Amphitheater and a Light Rail station are within walking distance. I would have stayed longer if I weren't moving out of state. Edit: I removed one star because the move-out process was way more difficult than it should have been.
Warning: Do Not Rent at Greenwood Park (unless you like being fleeced when moving out)! When we moved out of Greenwood Park, we made a point of ensuring everything was in order. We paid to have the apartment painted (using the apartment supplied paint), and we spent almost a day toiling away to clean everything in the apartment (including carpet), leaving everything impeccable (far cleaner than when we moved in). We were also on autopay to ensure we were never late with rent. Understandably, we did not expect any charges when we left. We were told to simply leave the keys in the office, which we did. A week or so later, I was shocked when we received a statement charging us for painting (including supplies), cleaning, and late rent fees, wiping out our deposit and charging us the difference. I called the apartment to clear things up, and I was told that I could review pictures online of the issues and that autopay was automatically turned off the month prior to leaving (no one had ever told me this, and it was buried in the documentation). I complained, of course, and the apartment rep said she would talk to the manager to “look into it” and get back to me. Of course, when I went online, no pictures pulled up at all, and they never got back to me. I certainly wasn’t going to pay something I knew I didn’t owe. After a couple months, I was further shocked when I received a call from a debt collector, demanding payment. I refused, telling the collector I had disputed the balance. Finally, in the final twist of extortion, I discovered the paid henchman of a collector had reported the balance to the credit agencies (I have never missed a payment on anything in my life). Simply put, Greenwood Park commits extortion. Regardless of whether you clean or paint, they will charge you for it, they won’t listen when you appeal, and then they’ll kick you to a debt collector when you dispute.
This is my 4th year in the Greenwood park apartment and i would say that first 2 years were awesome. Based on the facilities and price, i thought that this is the best place I ever hand. The days we had Rowena in the staff was the best time period. She is very professional and very friendly. Then the things started changing. The current staff is kind of rude and not friendly at all. Every time when I renew my lease, they increase the price by at least $125. But the very disappointing situation is, they (Management) cut down the facilities while all the other apartments provide the same facilities for a lower price. within last year, they limited the business center hours (club house) only to business hours which was used to be open 24 hrs, everyday. There were couple of computers and a printer in the business center which was very useful for the tenets. All of a sudden, they have removed all these computers and a printer recently. Hot tub is dirty most of the days and it is not getting cleaned very often. Apartments are kind of old. Doors are not insulated properly which caused to get the cold air into the apartment. So, the electricity bill is very high due to this reason. Finally very sad to say that the place i loved is changing to a bad place.
Can't even smoke in the apartment complex, or in my own patio!
Its very good but bit costly.
