Omg I saw a rat!!!! Yes I did not once but each time I visted. They hang out by the playground and the trash area. Wow can you imagine your child playing on rat piss and poop and not know. Plus think about it Rats in the pool its all near each other. They got to drink. Gross..... My girlfriend stayed there. I told her to move asap. Besides visitor parking well You got to park on the side of a street and walk up. Smh
Duration of Stay ### 2013, 2014, 2015 Reason to move ### Rodents - cockroach and Mice Bldg. 6735 New Hampshire Avenue Northeast, Takoma Park, MD 20912 (This review is regarding back side building - 6735 not 6733) .. but most points holds true to other buildings too...i guess Positives: Cheaper (if you dont extend/sign lease after your initial lease expires then you have to pay 300 extra per month on month to month basis) Management (They do their job - you talk nice, they talk nice but living here or not is your decision) Negatives for me: Leasing office: It says open on saturdays but not real work is done on weekends as Ester(site manager) is off on weekends. You have to wait for weekday for some imp. work/concern to resolve. As Leasing office is in building 6733 not in 6735, You dont have key for that building - You have to wait for some one to open the door (cold/hot weather) just to get access to Leasing office main door (you need this access every month as you have to drop the check for rent, no online payment available. Parking: You need to get money order of 5$(5min walk to shoppers next door to get Money Order and wait for your turn in shoppers as well) for visitor pass during office hours(I usually work from 8am to 5pm), If you miss these hours, your guest car is screwed for that night stay and has to park on road side (which is very far walk from 6735). If you have unplanned guests or relatives for weekend or overnight- their car will be towed without visitors tag. Most of the times some ones car/truck is blocking the 6735 main entrance- either for loading/unloading passengers or groceries. No dedicated parking. First come first serve and most of the times - by 6pm , near to main entrance , parking slots are full. you have to park far and walk to 6735 building entrance door. Tranportation: Downtown silverspring transportation is not infront of the building, you have to walk pass uhaul and cross the road (8min walk from 6735) Apartment itself(building 6735): a. Elevators: There are 2 elevators in building 6735(one of which is broken or under repair most of the times). You have to wait atleast 3 to 4 min on average. to step on to elevator. (very slow moving elevators) If you rush to office forget about elevators better to use stairs. (Stairs are aweful and not clean in 6735) b. Very often water maintenance, we should not use water from 9am to 5pm otherwise 250$ fine c. Bathroom - bathtub paint coming off easily and no repair has been done as 3rd party contractor has to be called on. (I am moving out still bathtub paint issue not resolved from past 6months) d. Kitchen - Full of Roaches (no matter how clean you are, roaches are crawling - you will find more when you turn on oven, even hidden roaches come out) & you can have your new pet Mr.Mice - has all freedom over your apartment. e. Heat system exists but not sure why apartment is so dry .. so dry.. even with humidifier my nose gets blocked every morning. f. Mailbox - (full of nonsense newspapers and adds..) example: your mails will be 1 out of 10 mails. Previous residents mails keep on popping up in your mailbox no matter what. g. Laundry - on every floor around 2$ for each wash or dry(not clean at all - driers usually u need 2 dry 2 times otherwise clothes are still wet just for one use) - I take my clothes to laundry next door (which is not nice either) h. Trash - atleast one or 2 days in a week you will get foul smell in entire hall way because of trash dump near trash doors by tenants i. safety - No renters insurance mandatory here not sure why..but recently so many cops come and go , enquire about some people etc. j. Firealarms will ring on all floors for no reason (This is the most annoying part of all - atleast 10min or more -- no one will show up to turn off the false alarm) k. Swimming pool - based on my apartment conditions - I never tried to step into the pool when it is open in summer (very limited times it opens) and no gym l. No one cleans the snow in the drive way except once in a while out of bluemoon.
I hate living in this STINKY hell hole. The staff is nice but useless. They can't fix anything. They have security during the day.....wtf? You need it at night people. My apartment got broken into and I had to go buy a lock myself they didn't want to put in a new one, they came to check the screws....I'm moving out as soon as my lease expires....two more months, I CAN'T WAIT!!!
I've lived here since January 1970 and I have seen riff-raff come and go. Management has been good for 3 to 4 years now. The mice, roaches and bed bugs have been brought in by incoming residents! Management has made a concerted effort to rid the property of all problems be they human, insect or animal. Subletting is against the rules so that person was here illegally. If the halls stick it is more than likely a nasty tenant. The lobby is cleaned Monday thru Friday. Tenants leave large objects at the trashshoots instead if taking them down to the dumpsters. Management does respond when called so I am blaming the nasty tenants for problems because of rules being broken.
The managers are rude and disrespectful! Bugs bed, roaches and mices.. the hallway always stink. this is the biggest mistake that I have made by moving in. I cant wait until my lease end. I do not recomment anyone to moved in. I know it cheap but you will regreted. The most important thing is all management from Belford Towers need to be fired cuz I think company pay money for this peoples who dont know how to run the places. DONT MOVED IN PLEASE.
