best of the best. 9/10. corse sand, but you can see the bottom, clean, free of trash of all kinds, kid friendly and vast views, ocean floor clean too…can't beat it. Well, a tropical beach maybe?! dolphins swimming by beach all afternoon showing off some great dives and jumps. seagulls stole my chocolate muffins though lol
Looking for a serene escape from the crazy city? Get out on the PCH and head north. Just past Pepperdine University find your way to Point Doom beach. parking is a struggle as there isn’t a lot, so prepare to park in the neighborhood and walk a little ways. Climb down the huge staircase and an entire beach can be shared by only a few who are willing to walk. Check out Neptune's Net on the way home for a cold one and some delicious clam chowder.
Nice beach if you can get to it. There are 10 parking spots and unless you get lucky (we did!) you won't be able to park your car and go see it. There is a 10 minute walk after you park. The views are great and the beach is very secluded.
Although I got a parking ticket it wasn't too much of a terrible experience. I wish there was more parking though, but overall the scenery was beautiful and relaxing.
I was there in April 2014 and watched a guy fall from a cliff & get air rescued out. I think about this guy all the time. I hope he recovered. If any one knows anything about the accident please post. My thoughts still go out to him & his mom.
