Great location - beautiful pool & super friendly neighbors!
You can't beat the location for the price. Neighbors are friendly and seem to have a good time around the pool. I've stayed here several times and always felt comfortable and safe. They repainted the entire complex which was needed and looks nice now. Landscaping looks great in my mind, lots of palm trees and cacti. I would consider buying a place, but will probably just rent over the next few years.
I've rented at the Maya for over 2 years and have lived in 4 of the units. The location is great. I like that I can walk across the street to the grocery, restaurants, resale shops, auto repair, pet shop and clothes shopping. Having a trolley stop is also a bonus. Since I'm a renter I don't know about about the meetings. I can see the property continues to improve though. I'm in real estate and have watched the values increasing.
I have a dear friend who has lived there for ten years.Do not, I repeat, do not buy a condo here. Check out the pipes, wiring, crime in the parking lots, bickering and hostility of the Board Members between each other and their property management companies. They have had numerous property management companies and they are always fired so there is no continuity of service, communication, financial information, etc. Some of the Board members give special privileges to those who they are friends with and won't listen to others because of their relationship. The landscaping gets worse and worse. It's really a nightmare. While there are lots of conscientious owners and renters, the owners/renters that are bad are really awful. They have Section 8 people living there which many are not alerted about. Do your homework if you think you want to rent/buy there.
I have lived here going on two year's good people but the board members are a joke!
