I used to live here. I served 20 years in the Corps. I seen some places uninhabitable by man. But yes the women in the office are bogus and liars. I never got my mail from that apartment complex do to the keys being wrong. I personally watched the maintenance man be told by the office manager to break into the mailbox. Criminals all threw the office. Your management should be a shamed. You woman as mothers should understand the hardships you put on people will return. I got my 401k sent to my nee address in Lenexa. My 3 bed 2 bath fireplace and full deck cost me 950 and its all electric. I pay them what you guys tried to take me to court for. No your rights people. Write them a 15/30 if you can afford to move. The only way to win is to take there profit away.
If I could give this place no stars I would. Me and my boyfriend moved in a year ago and things are TERRIBLE! the management ladies are rude, their maintenance sucks BIG TIME. Most the neighbors are Mexican and like to blast their music in their apartments aND sit in the parking lot and listen to their music blasted through their car radios. The Neighbors are extremely rude and not nice what so ever. My bathroom fan hasn't worked for 10 months, my carpet is literally coming apart at the seams, my dish washer has broken twice, my refrigerator is ancient, the walls are bowing, the floors are slanted, and to top everything off there are ROACHES. Do not move here! If I had the money i would of left a month after I moved in. Also keep track of your receipts, they'll try to tell you theres stuff you didn't pay for when you really have.
I currently live here on the village view side in a hilltop apartment. Couple of things you should know: 1) the studio apartments have window units, all other units have central. If you are like me and like it cold in the summer, I recommend a central cooling unit, or your electricity bill alone will be $160 to keep it at 70 degrees. 2) Don't be afraid to call the cops. My downstairs neighbors have their death metal music playing every night well past quiet time. I've called the cops on them twice so I have the police reports to show management when I go to put in a complaint. The neighbors to the right of me smoke weed every other day and it's so strong it filters through the walls and gets into my home. I've called the police on them too, no worries. These things have to do with the people who rent, and are within their rights as renters with The Villages until they become such a nuisance that the cops come regularly, so the office can't help you, so don't take it out on them. The office ladies are great, and if I weren't accepting a raise in my company, I would extend my lease (in a central cooling unit this time) for another year or two. I never utilized either of the two pools on the property, partly because I never knew there was a second pool and partly because the neighborhood children are freakin' weird! (Think like mad eye moody weird) During the summer months I had an issue with my AC unit and after a month they finally fixed it the way it needed to be fixed and all is well now. The office ladies have been quick on any other request I have, so long as I submit it through the web portal for residents first before calling or going into the office to inform them. Paying rent online is easy and convenient, and this area is safe to run around at night. I often take jogs between 11pm and 1am, and there is no concern for safety. There is also a Walmart less than 5 minutes walking distance away from my front door! How cool is that?! You don't hear ANY of the highway noise, sometimes you'll hear a train at 3 am, but that's only if you're awake and have super good hearing. Overlook the fact that the maintenance man was a felon, because he was DAMN good at his job and a total pleasure to be around. Very friendly and all, and it isn't the apartments fault he falsified his records and got through the background checks. Overall, my opinion of this complex is very good. It's significantly cheaper than the apartments in the gated community across the street, and has no bug problem like the one down the street. Definitely check this place out (:
900 off rent sounds like a good deal but once you move in it explains why it really does.. I live on the bottom floor my apartment has flooded twice, A.C. unit does not work.... I was told a hole a lot of good things from the office, but now I'm moved in and they receive my money it is like all that went out the door.. and a few days ago my kids and I went to the pool the office lady Mary was their with her child, and my only problem with that is her 3 maybe 4 year-old son was pee~ing on the fence after my child asked her if there was a bathroom, she pointed upstairs..... lol the office lady's need to be let go, in other words, house needs to be clean. and with what happened on the news...... I think that is pretty clear
The buildings are old and falling apart. The management is incompetent and terrible at their jobs. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Save yourself the frustration and find some place better.
