Below is a list of just some of the issues we encountered while living at Westerlee for one year- - Drain fly infestation, multiple maintenance requests - never fixed - Gas leak in the stove, took multiple maintenance requests to fix - Incorrect doors on both the front and sliding doors- big gaps allowed many bugs in - Walls were not finished when we moved in, gaping holes, could see into the walls for the first two months - Black water would come up through the bathtub drain every time it rained - Kitchen sink would flood with black water and food from the garbage disposal randomly when not being used, multiple maintenance requests - never fixed - Garbage disposal and AC didn’t work when we moved in in July - Black and green algae/mold on patio - Crack in bathroom sink, would flood the cabinet below, took multiple maintenance requests to fix - Four times in one year the plumbing in the apt above us had issues which caused multiple leaks massive leaks in our bathroom. Maintenance could not figure out what the problem was and had to cut our ceiling out 4 times. After one of the "fixes" maintenance sprayed a coating over the bathtub in January that was such a strong smell it made us sick and had to have the windows open for over 24 hours to get the chemical smell out of the apt - Water heater leaked soaking two room's carpets - MOLD!!!! They ignored multiple notifications of back mold in the apt, it spread so fast it got on a lot of our personal belongings. Had to throw a lot of our furniture and kitchen items out, they offered no assistance in finding anywhere else to go- the apt was deemed by a professional that everything had to be removed and professionally cleaned and was not safe to be in until cleaned. Save yourself money, frustration and health concerns- find somewhere else to live
I have never been so angry with an apartment complex in my life. To start it off, the VERY FIRST WEEK we moved in, the AC was broken and it was the middle of JULY. They first told us it was because the filter was dirty, so 2 days later they replaced the filter, mind you for those two LONG days it was over 90 degrees in the apartment. A day later the AC was broken AGAIN. It took them over two weeks to finally come in a replace the unit. We had to sleep in the living room because it was too hot to sleep in the bedroom! We had to ARUGE with them several times before they ever came out to fix it. The unit they replaced it with is so loud that when it shuts off it makes the dog bark. That should have been our first warning. On top of minor details we have had to call them to fix (including a hole THEY left in the bathroom door) our shower started to leak. Each time we called them, they came no sooner than two days after the call to "patch up the leak." It never worked, their idea of fixing the problem was to take some drywall and paint and fill up the leaky holes that were created at the top of the ceiling from the water pouring out of the upstairs neighbors pipes. Finally (about a month after our first call) they came to fix the pipes, removed the wall, patched up and repainted. We were SO WRONG to believe that was going to be the end of it, its still leaking, we have called several times and no one has done anything. There are holes in our ceiling above the shower, its dangerous and unsanitary. The people upstairs have packed a family of 6 into a 2 bedroom apartment. They argue, play loud music, and it sounds like the wrestle elephants in their free time. They are constantly having parties and yell all through the hallways. They stomp around so much that pictures have fallen and the TV shakes. I can no longer do any of my work at home, I am forced to leave to find peace and quiet in order to be productive what so ever. They also take their trash and old food and toss it off the balcony into the bushes in front of our doors. It's disgusting; we are constantly chasing away stray cats from the rotting food. We have asked them to keep it down and we have told management. No one cares. Not to mention the neighborhood behind us has dogs that bark from the early morning hours until later in the day. I am assuming when the family is home they just let the dogs outside to sit all day no matter the weather conditions. The dogs have learned to jump their fence now and they get loose, we have a small dog and we will not risk taking her out with dogs we don't know running lose. We have attempted to contact the property manager in particularly about the constant leak in our shower, in addition to our other issues, and they have told us they would call back, but never do. I wish we could afford to break our lease early and move out, we have a few months left and we cannot WAIT to be done with this apartment. This place is not worth what you pay for it, it’s not even worth half. ... and if you enjoy stepping in dog poop because of your inconsiderate neighbors, by all means, move in.
Awful awful awful customer service. 40 days to let us know that the carpets had to be replaced and a thousand dollar bill to boot! All of this could've been resolved by a simple phone call but since the property manager is an evil person they just want your money. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else.
