The only reason they get 1 star is because you cant give them 0 stars. I lived in M Street apartments from 2013 until now. My lease is finally up and they've hit me with more than $1000 in hidden moveout fees. They lost my security deposit when the management group switched and won't let me get it back. They are extremely rude and unprofessional. When I moved out to go to my next apartment i put the garbage I didn't want next to the dumpster which is completely legal, and received a 3 hour notice slip saying I had to remove garbage from the dumpster or pay them $1000 dollars. What complex does crap like that !!! They are a bunch of money hungry thieves and don't pay them a single dollar. I've been accused of having animals when I didn't peeing in the stair wells and multiple other offenses. These people are thieves in the management building. The maintenence people are their best assest. They work very hard and swiftly but the management is obsurd . The homosexual men in the front office constantly flirt and it makes my wife and I uncomfortable at times. It's just a huge mess going on at these apartments and to avoid issue PLEASE DONT MOVE HERE. I beg you. They have mold, infestations, terrible ammenities, and the management team is terrible. From me to you please move somewhere else and save the heart ache
I moved here from Los Angeles, so my standards were very high. When I came to view the apartments it was such a pleasant experience; the representative that gave me a tour of the complex took the time to listen and understand my needs, which I have a lot of, and presented me with the perfect place to live. The staff here are the best and I say that with no exaggeration. Anytime I go to the office they fix my problems within minutes - from where are good eateries to the dryer stole my quarters. They go above and beyond by treating you as an individual and not your apartment number! The grounds are well kept! I have a little pooch and he's a hot mess but loves being outside. The grounds are so big and beautiful that we don't ever need to go walk on the street. We basically have our own personal park and he loves every minute of it - from the tall grass tickling his bum to rolling around with his ball in the short grass. In addition, a dog park is being added as we speak so he'll be over the moon. Safety was something that I was really worried about because I have a horrible habit of leaving my door unlocked or open (I'm working on it) and I feel beyond safe! Moreover, I get along with all my neighbor so that helps keep the environment comfortable. Everyone here minds their own business, but if you ask them for help they are always there in a matter of seconds. Honestly, I can go on and on about the phenomenal things because there are no cons living here what so ever. Take it from a high maintenance young professional, living here is worth all of your pennies and the best part is that the cost is reasonable.
The worst apartment ever. People in the office are rude and unprofessional. They would tell you that they don't have your package and two month later when you check your packages with them you have this thing that was delivered two months ago. Everything they say about referring a friend is a complete lie. They will make sure you don't get the money. There's only one trash disposer by the way. If you live on the other side, you have a nice workout carrying the bags there, unless of course you drive. When you move out they would tell you that they did not receive the move out reminder you sent them two months ago and you either stay there for another couple of months or you pay the rent and leave. The water and utility bills are suspiciously high. I would avoid living there at all costs.
After almost a year of dealing with drunk college students, a security gate that probably worked about 3/4th's of the time and the rest of the time just stayed open, I was ready to go. I apparently thought my lease ended a month later than it actually did (11 month lease vs. 12 month lease). I admit that's on me. However I called, e-mailed, stopped by the leasing office 5 times and every time when I asked if everything was set for me to not renew and if I made the deadlines in telling them they said yes. When I got my bill they had increased my rent by about $400 for the last month and charged me a month-to-month fee as well. I called to clarify which is when I found everything out about when my lease actually expired. They said they would give me another copy of my lease and call me the next day. They did not. Yet after all of this, my favorite part is in talking to them and explaining that while I should have known my lease end date I was frustrated they never clarified this when I contacted them multiple times. Their response? 1) They put it in 1 note they gave me that was left outside my door that I never got. I've also found vomit and eggs outside my door throughout my tenure here so forgive me for not considering that a secure way of relaying information. 2) They said that in the lease it mentions you cannot trust anything they say because any of their representatives can be wrong and they are not liable for this.... So again. Anything they say can be inaccurate but they aren't responsible for that, according to their Manager at the leasing office.
My worst apartment experience ever. I've lived in Atlanta for eight years but have never encountered the rudeness and incompetence as I have at M Street. I'm an extremely patient man but when I have to sit in the leasing office and wait 20 minutes for a package every time, I question their common decency. When I receive a trash violation on my door that has a picture attached of another apartment that's not mine, I question their competence. If you ever call them as a resident they will not answer, you have to pose as someone interested in renting an apartment. THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I had to get a lawyer involved at the end. So much unnecessary stress. I plan on protesting their awfulness outside the leasing office one day. They will violate your rights here at M Street.
