My husband and I checked in for four nights on May 22, 2015 around 8 pm. He left a duffle bag on chair in front of registration to present credit card. This is a cozy registration area. It's not like I'm in a great wide lobby with tons of guests around. We went up to the hotel room not realizing it was left behind. Nothing turned up after several inquiries. It was not until we asked hotel security to review surveillance camera that they acted to investigate. Spoke to several security staff. Security confirmed that he brought in the bag to reception area but not up to hotel room. They did not want to reveal other facts. They advised reporting theft to NYPD which we did. Security refused to show us tape saying it would be turned over to NYPD upon request. Yesterday received email from Ms. Correri front officer manager that hotel was unable to identity bag in question. What? This contradicts several security supervisors and managers statement to us. I'm unsatisfied with the way this investigation is going and I will pursue my inquiry with Kimpton. I chose Eventi for safety reasons and location. I expected better security and assistance from Eventi which is a four star mid $200 per night rate. Update June 11 2015: thanks to Mr. Tom Concilio, Kimpton security manager at Boston office who clarified the confusion caused by email sent by front office manager. Tom took his time to explain the incident and findings. Our negative experience was turned around by him. He's an asset to the hotel.

Thoughtful and dedicated staff. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks for the surprise cupcakes. All in all, great views and good location. The property is in good condition. The restaurant is just ok, service and quality did not meet expectations.

My boyfriend, and I went there for my birthday. We had a very positive experience. Our concierge, Christopher, was simply amazing. Would definitely book this place again.

We only had the chance to stay for one evening while in NYC, but the Eventi- as with my experiences with all Kimpton hotels- did not let us down. The front staff was attentive and welcoming, the room was well designed and we had a great view of the Empire State Building. I love that Kimpton's offer a wine happy hour, too. Had we not been out with friends, we would have definitely partaken. The Eventi has a great location to the Broadway district as well as other convenient and exciting places to see and eat. I would definitely stay here, again.

I ALWAYS stay in Kimptons. I missed Tier 2 Loyalty level by 1 stay last year :( In NYC I have stayed in Ink 48, I was disappointed by their lack of service and by the lack of sound barrier to the street below and rooftop partying above. The Eventi reached every Kimpton expectation that has been set in other cities like Philadelphia, DC, Alexandria, San Francisco, etc. The hotel itself is a .5 mile walk from Penn Station (which happens to be around where I work when I am in NYC). The hotel restaurant had an amazing american style menu with reasonable (ish) prices, $12-21 for salads. $20 up for entrees. Side dishes served separately. The hotel is a 1.5 mile run to the center of central park. The third floor is where the complimentary wine hour occurs and it is a lovely space. The Eventi had someone to open the doors (lovely huge doors right in the center of Manhattan), and a hotel desk staff with smiles and genuine welcomes around 4:30 PM. I requested a corner room after reserving a King room. I was put in a great 22nd floor corner king room. The view was spectacular, the room was very clean, the mini bar key was waiting in the mini bar lock. The bathroom was plenty big enough, the shower is big enough comfortably to fit more than one person. The shower head had an option for a rainfall or normal shower head, there was a place to sit within the shower. The room I was in did not have natural light within the bathroom. I missed the complimentary wine hour, so Kimpton sent up a bottle of wine! That is the type of stuff that always sets Kimptons apart from any other chain or boutique hotel. I forgot toothpaste, the staff offered to go buy toothpaste from the corner store for me or bring some colgate samples the hotel already has up to my room. Can't wait to return for business or pleasure. Amazing experience.
