I have never had a worse rental experience then at the Forest Apartments in Rockville, MD. I recently locked myself out of my apartment and they refused to help me. They had the keys to get back into my apartment, but instead, left my 6 year son and I out in the cold and insisted I call a locksmith. On top of that, they threatened their employee with termination if he helped me, which would only have required having him come to the apartment and using the key he already had to let me back in. the policy used to be that the locked out tenant would have to pay $50 to be let back in and I would have gladly paid that. Instead, I incurred a $231 cost for a locksmith, the lock was completely destroyed with I have no doubt will be an additional cost to me, we were left out in the freezing cold at night, my son was scared and I was unnecessarily stressed. Evidently the Forest changed their policy for lockouts, but didn't adequately inform the tenants. I had no idea that I would be abandoned like this by the management company. I pay approx $1600 a month rent and the place is awful. Not only have I had to file complaints for mice, fleas and cockroaches in my apartment, but when I was in the most need and vulnerable during my lockout they turned their back on me. I would expect A LOT more service for $1600 a month. I will never rent here again.
