Too expensive for no reason and too many racist police. The apartment was ok though because of the space...that's it. The city sucks!

I have lived in the apartments for over a year so far. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pro's ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Fast maint response time. the one time I had requested maint. for my unit, they were there promptly. - Good Customer Service @ front office. - Quiet Building. - Clean Buildings. - Clean Grounds ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cons ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - rate increases. My renewal rate jumped up a lot. - Extra fee's. You pay for every parking space monthly. You share the costs for the whole buildings electricity, heat, gas, trash. (think like 60 dollars, don't quote me) You pay for your own electric. Bigger households pay more. If you have a pet, they charge pet rent. - Parking -We used to have sticker permits. The new management has partnered with rapid towing, which conveniently provided the complex with permits that you have to hang from your mirror. You can't legally drive with it hanging, so you have to remove it. Don't ever forget to hang it back up face paying $240 to be impounded all the way to Saint Paul. Doesn't matter that you registered your vehicle with the front office. - Winter plowing. Complex wants all vehicles off property from set times during the day when they plow. there is no rotation of lots being cleared off. little notice (1-2 days). Don't take a vacation during the winter, if its snows your vehicle will be gone. - Car break ins. My vehicle has been broken into once. I have noticed other times other vehicles broken into, (once a whole row of SUVs had the back windows smashed) -general maint of facilities- unavoidable (huge) Potholes in parking lot took 5 months for them to fill with gravel, and a month later they finally paved it. Last month I have had building's water shut off several times for maint. - Notices. - Several times the complex has all received notices threatening to find people with animals and fine them. Also been receiving notices threatening to fine ($50) people with bicycles and other things on there balcony (once they install a bike rack). I'm sorry, but people own expensive bikes and no one is going to want to leave that in a public bike rack when vehicles are getting broken into.

Current resident at the Woods of Burnsville, overall it's a very decent place to live for a big complex. Rent is a little high due to the fluxuation of utilities month to month but that's just how it goes. Since the Woods came under new management the office is much friendlier, and actually care and are considerate if emergencies come up resulting in rent a day or two late. The office has so much better customer service since changing ownership.
