Terrible experience! Nothing works well, rooms are worst than a sheep motel, super small!! Nobody cares about if you feeling ok, we ask for a triple room and they charge $1000 to put a camp bed on it!! I don't recommend! Expensive and small!!!
I'm sorry to say this place was not up to standard. The building is nice enough and the staff are great, but when we arrived they had booked us (2 males) into double room, so we had to pay an extra $140 to be upgraded. The hallways resemble a storage depot, with bright green doors, but they were mostly clean. They have lots of lifts (elevators) but be prepared to wait a while for one to come, and the crowds gather! The rooms disappointed us though as no water and the aircon was poor and very loud during the night. Our main problem was the clientele - this type of fashionista hotel attracts the most revolting, snooty 'See U Next Tuesday's', it's fine if that's your bag, but it's way too much for me.
Spent our honeymoon here. It was small, reminded me of university residence, but we didn't have high expectations for space. We just needed a basic, clean and comfortable place to rest, and it was. The lobby and the rooftop patio were just extra amenities, and they were great. Being a block away from Columbus Circle was extremely convenient. The subway station there is directly served by lines to all of the boroughs. Times Square and Central Park are a couple minutes away. If you need a good priced NY hotel, you are going to be out seeing the sights all day on foot and by subway, and you can tolerate a small room, this is the perfect hotel.
Nice hotel. Small rooms, but that is outlined in advance and their lobby bars are great. My two-star review has to do with the complete lack of customer service after my stay. I provided a personal credit card upon arrival at the Hudson, as for some reason my boss' card was not working. I was assured that there would be no charges on my card after sorting things out with my boss (and his card was approved), and that mine would be taken off file. Day two of my trip: $318 worth of charges on my personal card from Hudson Hotel. Day three: $183 charged on my personal card from Hudson Hotel. I live in another country, and called four times to voice my concern, register my complaint, and have the issue rectified. It took 3 days to have the charges come off, and then, on the Friday after my stay (I checked out of the hotel on a Tuesday), I was charged another $213. Livid at this point, I called three more times (no answer, no voicemail) and sent two emails. The last email said that I would be disputing the charge with my credit card company if they didn't respond within two business days. It has been another week and I have never received a call or email to sort things out or apologize. The final charge is in dispute mode with my card company, and I do not recommend this hotel if you have a level of expectation for service.
I like the lobby atmosphere and cool spots to chill. The rooms are small and not so enjoyable to stay in. The downstairs restaurant's food is not good and very casual to be priced the way it is - $8 for a cookie.
