I am leaving Austin for travels and business school and need to rent my bedroom in a two-bedroom apartment at the Statehouse on South Congress. In general, you will be hard pressed to find a better location at a better price, with such great amenities. The total rent is $765 plus cable and utilities, which are maybe another ~$100/month and the current lease goes through August (you will be on the official lease).

The apartment/room: A spacious 2-bedroom, 1-bath (floor plan for the B1-The Connally model found at http://www.statehouseapts.com/Apartments/module/proper ty_floorplans/property[id]/15351/#). The apartment comes with a washer/dryer and full kitchen, dining, and living room w/ big screen TV (furnished by the remaining roommate). It also has an outside porch we use for storing bikes and a nice bench. The room for rent is about 12X12 with a spacious closet, a large window, and is fully carpeted. Overall, the place is very clean and well maintained.

The complex: The Statehouse is located in the middle of the South Congress thoroughfare with easy access to great shops, bars, restaurants, and music venues all within walking distance. It is also just a mile from the heart of downtown (I have a bike to get all around downtown, so I almost never use my car). It has a large pool (which is great on the weekends), a hot tub, and a gym. There is also free parking for residents and designated areas for guests. In general, the management team has been very helpful and responsive to maintenance needs -- never had a problem in my 3 years here.

Your new roommate: 29-year old female who has a steady consulting job and works primarily from home (which means she's around a lot but also gets impulses to clean). I've known her for 7 years and she's a ton of fun and extremely easy going. She also just moved to Austin and will likely leave the apartment when the lease is up at the end of August, so you can decide to leave as well or fill it with your own selection, which gives you some flexibility.

You: Mature, clean, respectful. . .blah blah blah -- just need to be a responsible roommate. Preferably male and about 26 -- 34. Relatively active and social and a good fit for the remaining roommate. You will also have to eventually pass a background check through the complex and it's about $40.
