About This Apartment

I am leaving for Japan and Europe for about 2-3 months for school and work, so must sublease my apartment as soon as possible (that would be June 7th throughout either July or August, depending on what your plans are. I am flexible. I can sublease for either two or three months). Unfortunately a hectic schedule has kept me from doing this properly earlier (preparing for a wedding), but I'll give it another go and provide as much info as possible:

1. Location: This roughly 600 ft. apartment is located on Champlain Street in Adams Morgan, between Kalorama Street and Columbia Road. The location is really fantastic, just a skip away from Columbia Heights, Mt. Pleasant, U Street, Dupont, and Woodley Park.

2. Transportation: We are surrounded by metros, U Street is about 5 blocks away, Woodley Park is easily accessed via walking (4 or 5 blocks), bikeshare, or circulator, and the same goes for Dupont Circle (I walk there everyday) and Columbia Heights). Bus, bikeshare, and circulator are literally half a block away, but often there are not necessary because it is easy to walk to all of these metro stops and arrive within 10 minutes.

3. Amenities: You will NOT be getting a room, but the entire apartment to yourself (I do not have a roommate). My furnishing is simple but complete: bed, carpet, couch, table, chairs, flatscreen TV, and 4G internet (free. its on my account so I'll just continue to pay for it) that is actually portable and functions anywhere in the city so you can take it with you to cafes, libraries, wherever. Also, the closet is unusually large, so no worries about storing anything. The apartment mainly hardwood floors, carpeted bedroom, there's an antique tub in the bathroom, beautiful windows overlooking the street, etc.

4. Price: 1400 is what I pay and what you will pay. The idea is to find a very responsible, trust worthy, great person to look after my place while I am gone so when I get back it will not be in ruins. That's all I ask for :-) Utilities are apart and will be between 30-50 dollars (yes, there is airconditioning), and on a side note, there are NO pets allowed in this building. Move in date: It is possible to move in June 1st, but would be a little stressful for me in terms of preparation, but I'm willing to cooperate regarding this.

5. Two notes: I would like to give priority to people who are going to be working/interning in the city, as I know from first-hand experience the madness of trying to find a decent place to live in DC. I must leave the country pretty soon (end of first week of June), so I will schedule appointments to show the apartment starting on Sunday until the end of next week now that I have more time.

I hope I've been thorough. Sometimes I get an overwhelming number of e-mails on craigslist so I've tried to anticipate questions. E-mail me with any other questions you might have and to see pictures (I think the pics were too large to load onto craigslist, so I'll e-mail them.)
