I'm a Columbia grad student looking for a roommate who is interested in a long term (year) apartment rental.

The Apartment: UWS/Morningside 2nd floor walkup at 109th and Broadway. Completely gut renovated (I am the first to live there) with new bathroom, all new HUGE kitchen with stainless steel appliances as well as LAUNDRY IN THE APARTMENT. It is technically a three bedroom but since there is no real living space I've turned the small bedroom into an office/den room. Grocery, Columbia, an array of restaurants...EVERYTHING is pretty much at your doorstep. One block to the Cathedral 1 stop.

Me: Late 20's female. Originally from the Philly area. Clemson grad. Responsible. Reliable. Generally sane. Pays rent on time. Moved from Philly in January so relatively new to the city. I will be pretty low key during the week with school but do like to go out once in a while, though I don't bring the party home. I love to cook and have friends over for dinner or a glass of wine after a long day. Always up for a beer and some football. Drug Free. Nonsmoker. Healthy lifestyle. Eats well, gym, running etc.

You: Male, Female, Gay, Straight. . .doesn't matter. Similarly minded would be nice but not completely necessary. Pays bills on time. Student or gainfully employed. Open minded. Respectful and Responsible. Drug free. Nonsmoker.

I do have a large dog so MUST LOVE DOGS although she is completely my responsibility I'd like to trust you won't accidently let her out to roam the streets of NYC or anything like that. She's 5 years old and trained. . .spends most of her time when I'm not around in my room (her choice not mine). She's good with other people once she warms up to you (it takes a few days sometimes) and is good with other dogs if you have a friend for her. No cats please I am severely allergic.

I don't need a new best friend but I would like us to at least get a long and be able to go out for a drink once in a while or share a meal.

I will be asking for a credit check (just need proof I'm not getting screwed and you can afford to pay rent), first and last month's rent be paid upfront and half of the broker fee ($5250 in total) and you will have a lease (I hate to be so formal but I've been screwed in the past by not being on a lease and want this all to work out for both of us) Apartment is available to move in ASAP. I am available to show the place (but please don't mind the mess as I continue to put the place together and make my (potentially our) house a home).

So if you're interested, want to see some more pictures or schedule a showing shoot me an email with a little bit about yourself and what you're looking for and I look forward to hearing from you! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE MY TIME OR YOURS. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY. I WILL NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS THAT JUST SAY "ROOM STILL AVAILABLE?"
