I agree with everyone about management. HORRIBLE! We just rented in December and we waited until the 9th to move in, so management had an extra 9 days to turn over the apartment properly. When we moved in, the front door lock was difficult to use, the door jam was pulled off, the smoke detector was disabled, the carpets were completely filthy (a black ring around the edges and inside the closets where they didn't bother to clean), a light was burned out, a closet bar was pulled out of the wall, both bathroom cabinets were disintegrated and moldy, the sinks were leaking, one toilet didn't stop running, one shower couldn't be turned on, and finally, one closet door wouldn't open. Come on!!! I get that some of this wouldn't be noticeable in a turnover (ie - broken shower), but shouldn't checking the smoke detector and replacing burned out lightbulbs be on some kind of master list? so fast-forward over a month later, we are still waiting to have the vanities replaced (after several complaints and visits by maintenance, without any forward movement on actually getting anything done) and have the carpets cleaned. my roommate and i have each been without a functioning bathroom once in the month we've been here...good thing we have two. I don't know what one-bathroom apartments do when it breaks and maintenance doesn't bother to respond to calls. in addition, several times when maintenance has come, they've said, "i'll have to come back, i don't have what i need." and then they're never seen again! The property manager is completely irresponsible and doesn't care about doing his job. He promised to have our vanities replaced in December, then never called us back with an install date. After he went on vacation for a week (the week the replacement was supposed to happen), the leasing manager (who is actually awesome and she should be getting credit as property manager) scheduled the install for us. I've definitely lived in shittier places than this, but at least that was a college town where I was paying a quarter of what I am now. I'm a working professional and managing the maintenance of this run-down property is a full-time job that I don't have time for. also, don't believe them if they tell you you'll have a short wait for parking. after we moved in, they told us there were 14 people on the waiting list in front of us in our building alone so it may be several months before my roommate and i can both park in the building (although sounds like it's not that safe anyways!) the location is great and the layout of the apartment is convenient, but not sure it's worth all this hassle. be sure you really check out your unit before you sign anything! if we had, we would have picked somewhere else to live.

Please seriously avoid this place... I moved in and it looked nice at first glance, but, I"ve lived here for like 5 months now and here is my experience. The building construction is old, as a result, I've had at least 1-2 restless nights a week, due to the loud footsteps coming from the apartment above me... My upstairs neighbors are not obnoxious, there is just no soundproofing between the floors. Also every night I have the pleasure of hearing my upstairs neighbors pee in the toilet... so, nice... One of the light fixtures broke in my apartment, it took management 2 months, full of countless calls and reminders to management, to fix my light. Mice and bugs are a problem in these apartment. My girlfriend found a mouse one night in our kitchen. There was a 4" hole behind our stove. It was fixed, but 2 weeks later we heard the crawling and crying of mice under our sink... to our surprise another 3" hole was found under our sink, along with 2 mice traped in our trashcan, who bled all over the trashcan in their stuggle to escape. Also the college kids below us like to party and scream outside in the courtyard till 4 am on the weekends. Now, I'm not an old foggie, I just graduated from college a year ago... but I warn you of this if you do have a family or a weekend job, like nursing... Please avoid! I can't wait to leave... this property is managed awfully and built awfully... it may look nice at first glance and the staff may seem nice during the first impression... but please don't fall for it... I just wish I wasn't here... hence the pleading for you not to fall into the same situation.

I've lived here for about about 15 months and while the apartments are decent (although not NEARLY as nice as the ones they show you) and the maintenance man, Mike, is nice and tries really hard to be helpful, the management is HORRIBLE. First off, the garage was broken into twice and the 1st floor apts since my stay. As for our apt, the air conditioning broke and it took about a year until the problem was fixed. Our refrigerator also froze everything and Mike had to work through the management's bureaucracy for several months to get us a new one. Finally, the office has been AWFUL with packages- they never told me an overnight package with an international plane ticket had arrived for me so I had to pay $600 for a new one and another time they held on to an acceptance packet from my grad school FOR 3 MONTHS... so long, that I missed the decision deadline for the school! My advice is that unless you're really desperate to quickly find a place in Rosslyn (it's still a 10m walk to the metro), keep looking!
