Predatory moving-out practices! When we first moved in it featured a terrarium window, of which they decided to take out and replace with a regular window. Taking away one of our perks while keeping the rent the same. It also took them months to replace all the windows and it was very noisy. I had a neighbor harass me for half the time I lived there. I don’t think they background check because a lot of unsavory people lived there. The lake is nice but the ducks leave feces everywhere and are mean. The sauna that they boast about NEVER worked the entire time I lived there (years). The lake has a lot of trash around it, all the time. Finally, when we decided to move out they charged us for replacing the carpet, even though the carpet could have just been clean, it had only one stain on it. They used us moving out as an excuse to do some upgrades on the apartment and then CHARGED US. I remember thinking it was odd that we had moved in and they had new carpet down. I mean usually the carpet is a little worn, well I guess they charged the previous tenant to make that happen. If you don’t want to be a victim of this then I would suggest not living there.

This place is great! It's quiet and peaceful. The buildings have good sound insulation, I don't hear much from my neighbors upstairs. Management is friendly and helpful, and maintenance is amazing- most times they get requests done the same day. Parking never seems to be an issue either. Highly recommend South Lake if you're looking for a place in VB.
