As an interior designer attention to detail is of utmost importance. It is something my clients appreciate in me, and I in turn appreciate in others. Ben is my brother and though I of course love and respect him, I have a new found extremely high regard for his attention to detail. Ben recently put me in contact with one of his clients. This client was looking for help in renovating two bathrooms and updating a kitchen in a Beacon Hill condominium in preparation for putting it on the market. There is a long way to go before the home is finished and ready to list. Most other agents would fade away until they were needed. Ben has been in constant contact with his client as well as myself wanting to keep in the loop and know as to the status of the renovations. He has also recommended a contractor to do the work. His attention to all the details of the renovation as well as high amount of attention he pays to his clients and willingness to go the extra mile speaks volumes for the service he provides to his clients.

What a horrible experience with this company, would give 0 stars if possible. First we signed a lease for a new apartment back in January. We were then told 6 months later in mid June that we actually lost the apartment, it was supposed to never be on the market. Whether or not it was the leasing company that screwed up here it is still unbelievable it took this long to find out, especially since we had been asking our Realtor for some time to go and measure the unit. To make this situation worse getting our refund back on the first, last, security and Realtor fee paid was extremely difficult. We were given back a majority of the money that week but a portion of the Realtor fee was not handed over, the portion used as the commission for the agent. That agent had now left the company and since they would be on vacation for 2 weeks we could not get the money back til then. After constantly calling various people at the company, including the owner, we were able to get half this amount back. Communication with this company was impossible as no one would return calls when messages were left for them. To top it off I was told the owner does not deal with customers and I would not be able to speak with him. Only after getting the owners email and emailing him myself was I able to speed up the process of getting the remaining money back. At this point I was told the money would be sent to me immediately. After more then a week of calling and emailing with no response was I finally able to get in touch with the owner. He said the check had been mailed but they would come and drop it off to me. I was finally able to get the check today 7/8 a full week after they had received the money back from the Realtor on 7/1 and 12 days since I was told this last portion would be sent to me. That it took 3+ weeks to get a refund on money I was owed is unbelievable. Even more frustrating is the lack of communication from the company as numerous calls and emails were never returned as they seemed to be avoiding this situation as much as possible. Avoid this company as much as possible.

WORST experience of my life. This company barely knows how to function as a company. They are late, inconsiderate and have no care about the customers. They don't answer the phone when you call and their voicemail is always full. On every level of the hierarchy they are insufficient. Their emails are essentially demands and they will be practically incomprehensible. Their renters are illiterate and next to impossible to reach. They also expect you to be able to read their minds to know when and where payments should be made. All they want is their Brokers fee, which is ridiculously expensive. They don't value you or your time so don't give them your money. You are better off throwing it out a window or setting it on fire. Chances are you will see better apartment results than the "service" they provide. Proper Realty is a lame excuse for a company.

I used Proper for the second time recently and was certainly happy that I did. I've gone through the rental process a total of five times in Boston and had nothing but difficulty except for my move to Brighton last year through Proper. When it came time to look again, I noticed an ad online from one of their agents, Patrick, and responded. Another smooth transition, this time from Brighton to Brookline. Keep up the good work for next year!

I recently moved to the allston/brighton area from Indiana. So needless to say I was brand new to the big city rental experience. I worked with an agent named Jordan from Proper Realty. He was very easy going and professional. He explained the entire process to me, which was great because I was clueless. He even told me about fun things to do and great places to eat in the area.
