This place is an absolute disaster. Let me preface this by saying, looks are deceiving. The "tour" of the very front area of the property is like real-life photoshop. They'll show you a nice laundry facility, the nice pool, and the nice model apartment (ya know, one with decent appliances and decent features). Then they'll tell you that they don't have a breed restriction, which is a huge selling point for those of us who own these types of critters. So, then you'll sign your lease and get excited for move in day. This is where all of your problems will begin. Should an appliance or any part of your new apartment need attention, you should have your handyman skills at the ready, because no matter how many times you call and/or show up at the office to have a "work order" put in, maintenance will not come fix the issue. They won't fix the broken washers and dryers in the "real tenant" laundry room on the other side of the complex. They won't mow on a regular basis, either. They will, however, sit in various areas of the property in their golf cart and chain smoke. Upon move in and lease signing, you'll be given a hardy stack of paperwork in regards to "pet policies". Feel free to burn these. Very few people abide by the rules of common courtesy in picking up behind their dogs. Nor will everyone leash their dogs. Don't expect the property manager to actually enforce said policies, because she won't. Should you have the unfortunate luck of being moved into a unit above, below, or across from neighbors who are, shall we say, rude and/or lacking in any sort of knowledge of common courtesy, under no circumstances should you even bother filing a complaint with the property manager. Even if you put it in writing, it will undoubtedly be "misplaced", leaving you with no recourse. However, if you happen to be a potential tenant who wishes to engage in loud partying, fighting with your mama/husband/baby daddy, go right ahead and move in Planters Crossing with no risk of breaching your lease! They fully condone pot smoking, both indoors and outside, as well as knock-down-drag-out fights. You can call the cops, but let's face it, those poor guys have enough on their plates. If you do decide it's worth the waste of time to file a complaint for any reason, don't expect anything to be done. The property manager (Patty) will be sure to blow lots of hot smoke, though. Be prepared to see through the fakeness. Trash is constantly strewn about the complex. I had the pleasure of stepping over a fake hair extension a few days ago. They'll be sure to post signs asking you to politely refrain from tossing your full, disgusting trash bags where ever you please and they may even draw on a poster board ominously threatening a fine...but again, don't worry, they won't enforce it. Basically, this is this worst place I've ever lived...and I've lived in many states, many neighborhoods. Don't waste your money or time. Run, run far as fast.

Be prepared for disaster if you step foot on this property! Time to remodel these 1980's apts!!! (without caulking/painting over mold!) Worse apt complex ever! Mold and Mildew, Ceilings constantly falling, Issues constantly worsening!!! I was here 10 months and had to have my lawyer step in to help! The Management is ruthless, and the employees are rude or just plain ignorant. You have to go directly to Patty Frye (Manager) in order to get anything taken care of and most of the time you can't get her on the phone or in person. I gave them an early termination letter since my kids and I have had bronchitis thanks to the growing amounts of mold in the AC ventilation areas and ceilings! When I confronted Patty about all the issues all she could do was get angry and hoped it chased me away. I stated my purpose and gave my lawyer all the pictures and mold tests from the last 10 months. The employees will throw away any requests that you write down to eliminate the paper trail where the SC law states any maintenance issues must be taken care of immediately, especially mold and electrical, appliance/equipment issues. Don't waste your time!

This apartment complex is awful. There were many things wrong with our apartment from day 1, and the office manager, Patty said it would all be taken care of promptly. Three months into the lease, all of these things were still broken including our dishwasher, doors, door knocker, door knobs, nails sticking out of the carpet, etc. The office was notified every week about the issues that still needed to be fixed with no effort to fix them. When we went to the office asking to be let go from our lease because nothing was being done, Patty looked me right in the eye and said "no, there's nothing that can get you out of your lease". Basically they've trapped us in a lease and won't fix anything correctly. They are the most rude, lazy , and inconsiderate people in the whole city of Charleston. Never, ever live here.

The people in the office are very rude and unknowledgeable. I need a extra day to pay the rent and when I took them the payment the retard in the office took the check.. The next week I get a call saying that they dont take checks after the 5th.. OMG he should of known that.. When you walk into that office its so uncomfortable.. Also I have made many service calls and the things I call to be fixed are never fixed.. I rather go to the employees that dont work in the office.. There is one lady in particular that is the sweetest.. Her name is Irene she is so nice to all of the residents and is there when we just need someone to talk to.. She is always moving around and on the go.. Planters Crossing is the worse apartment complex and i will refer NOONE..
