I've been here about a month and its such an upgrade from my last apartment. My apartment is pretty big for the price. The thing I like most about this place is the staff. Vernisha was so genuinely nice and very enthusiastic about My girlfriend and I moving in. This place is pet friendly. Glad I live here.

I just moved across the country to Austin, TX and wasn't really sure about where to live. I toured probably 20 different apartment complexes in different parts of town and finally decided to go with CityView Apartments. It's in a great location - close to downtown, where I work in east Austin, the airport, the lake, and plenty of stores/restaurants. Besides, the great price, awesome apartment community, and great location, the office staff was really the reason we ended up choosing CityView. One of their leasing agents, Vernisha, was really great about making us feel at home and giving us all the information we needed to make our decision. She was really organized and made the whole move-in process really enjoyable, even though it's usually not a fun process at most places. I highly recommend working with her if you have the choice. All in all, glad I ended up here. :)

Awesome luxury apartments! I just love my 2/2 with double closets in the master bedroom. Vernisha is by far the best office staff lady here. She had been nothing but amazing to me and my family! I will be renewing my lease when the time comes.

I've lived here just over a year. The first year, I had no issues with this place, aside from the area being sort of shady, but that's not their fault. My husband and I re-signed our lease here for another year, so that we wouldn't have to move at the busiest time of the year for us, and 10 days after our new lease started we got a notice on our door, just after we got a notice on our door about burglaries that have been occurring here, stating that we needed to move out so that the apartment complex could do some construction on our building. We explained to them that this was not possible because we had a lot going on at the time and this was very short notice. I was very disappointed in the fact that they didn't tell us about this 'construction' when we made the decision to re-sign our lease with them, because they must have known about it for quite some time. They explained to me that we had to move to a different building and we would be on the third floor (we were on the first floor before the move). They moved us to a nice two bedroom with all wood floors and a view of downtown Austin. Most people would think that this was an awesome change from our one bedroom apartment, but the catch was that we were only allowed to stay in this nice apartment paying the same rent as we have been paying for our one bedroom for the duration of the construction. So, for only two months. Then, we have to move back to our old apartment, or else we would have to pay almost double our rent for this two bedroom apartment that we have unwillingly been forced to move into. Also, they did not make the move-in process easy for us at all, even after we explained what we had going on and that we needed to move in ASAP if we were going to be forced to move at all since we will be leaving town. The office staff told us for almost a week straight that the cleaners and the painters would have our apartment done for days. By the time that the movers were scheduled to come (which they did provide for us, but that is all that they provided, no discount on rent or anything), the manager e-mailed my husband explaining to him that we needed to re-schedule the date for the movers to come, because the cleaners and the painters were going to come that day now, when they were supposed to have all of this done over a week ago. They communicated this with us about 3 hours before the movers were supposed to get here and we had already moved more than half of our stuff over there on our own. We called them directly after we got this e-mail and the office staff continued to explain to us that the manager is "busy" and will call us later on this afternoon, which never happened. We also e-mailed them back, to get no response. The communication with the office staff to their residents is absolutely terrible. Also, don't bother leaving them messages on their answering machine, because they DO NOT return them AT ALL. If we would have known that we were going to be forced out of our own apartment just 10 days after we re-signed a lease with this complex, we wouldn't have re-signed at all. But again, no communication. This complex does not care about its residents. It's all about what benefits them and money, because honestly this place is pretty expensive for the location. Don't get me wrong, the units are nice, but you can pay the same amount for a much nicer apartment in a much better location. I have never been inconvenienced so much with an apartment complex in my life. Needless to say, we will NOT be re-signing here again. I wish we didn't have to finish off this current lease here at all because this place is honestly terrible. Also, they did not communicate with us that we would have to start paying $20 a month for valet trash service until we got the bill for it, which they were "so sure" that they told us about it, which never happened. Oh! and when we re-signed our lease, the price of our rent raised and that was somehow considered a "deal". DO NOT LIVE HERE.

Uh, Yikes!!!.... I should’ve known better though, I read the previous reviews and thought to myself ‘self, surely it can’t be as bad as the reviews say.’ - Wowsers was I wrong. It’s just the management really, the leasing agents (Danielle and Natalie) rock and they try and do what they can with what they’re given (which isn’t much). I do respect the property owners for their community outreach by employing an all mentally-challenged management team, I didn't realize that DeVry University offered such work/study programs. The caliber of the management team has reflected recently when I found out they’ve been charging me $25 per month for fo-wood flooring which I don’t have - there I was casually responding to yet another mistaken balance notice and asked to see my ledger which revealed that not only had I overpaid on my rent, but I have been paying for non-existent hardwood flooring. Now I have to explain in crayon to management how they are screwing me yet again, then they’ll interrupt me because they uncontrollably sputter sentence fragments beneath their helmet, and I’ll have to remind myself that if anything else I’m gaining more general patience as a person… Quick list of things I’ve had to deal with and the time it’s taken for them to be handled, (oh keep in mind I’ve only lived here for 6 months): closet door fell off when moved in – 1 day (so far so good); ice-maker dispensing black ice & desperately needs new filter – 2/3 weeks; 3 of 4 faucets reversely installed – 3+ weeks and only got 1 fixed; kitchen faucet handle broke off when turning on water – about 4 days and they re-reversed the hot/cold hook-up to it’s original incorrect position; A/C went out at beginning of 4 day weekend in middle July – almost 5 days each of which I was told to not bother going out of town because it would be fixed the next day (really wish I had gone out of town)… oh also it only got fixed because I called code compliance and opened an investigation for health and safety hazard violation; kitchen drawer broke when opening it – 4 months in counting… they actually brought me a drawer about 3+ months after but it was too big… darn you DeVry shapes class! Then they’ll have the audacity to raise your rent making you ponder about why you would possibly pay more to live in an actively downgraded apartment… So unless you’re searching for volunteer hours to boost a resume for a special needs teacher, or just plain masochistic, then don’t do it – just don’t, save your time and go on a vacation, read to the elderly, anything else, if you’re smart you won’t sign the dotted line at this place. Oh, I totally forgot – a) parking is an absolute nightmare, forget about having visitors over unless you get a pass in advanced which expires after a couple of days so you'll have to get a new one every time; b) when I opened the garage I had been paying for, there was someone else’s car in it… lol. Happy hunting reader!
