WORST APT EVER!!!!! Would not even recommend to a homeless person with a dog. Prayerfully I made it out the same way I foolishly moved in a yr ago (May 2014-May 2015). Since my time there, I experienced a shooting directly across from my building (1200-16, 1st floor facing the woods), a robbery occurred around the holidays but information was withheld as far as who and where or if the suspect was apprehended (shortly around that time the property finally added more lights to the breezeways), heard gunshots surrounding the property, and my biggest problem was HUGE spiders and lots of them!! I almost developed arachnid-phobia they were so bad. In one night, I killed 7 alone, and those were just the ones I saw! It appeared they were primarily coming in at the base of the sliding door but they managed to roam all over the 873 sq ft apt i.e. living room, kitchen, bedroom, tub, in the TOILET!... Terrified, I was no longer comfortable in my own home. When I couldn't take it anymore, I tried to vacate immediately only to find out I had to pay rent for practically 4 months in addition to an early move out fee and I had 6 months left on the contract so it was no pointless. My next thing to do was try and make my living situation livable. I was contacted by the leasing manager (Aiyven Thigpen - after I tried and failed to get through to corporate because they screen calls and don't return them) to try and "reconcile" the issue, however, she was the least bit accommodating initially until I got a regional manager (Sarah Hughes - she always responded quickly and seemed sympathetic to my situation) involved. Ms Thigpen and a maintenance worker came by one morning to assess the apt...I was greeted with an attitude and no resolution. Furthermore, I was basically told to "accept it because we're in NC" and later asked what I thought THEY should do. If I decided to transfer to a different unit, I would have been responsible to pay for the transfer fee ($75 I believe). Long story longer, I was eventually put on a routine pest control list in which they came in the first Wednesday of every month to spray. Prior to this, (and with the help of my best friend who happens to be a site manager) I was informed that spiders are hard to kill and spraying does virtually nothing. They must be killed on contact. I'm just fortunate that nothing serious happened to me or that I had a young/small child or dog living with me. If you've read this far, my take home message is find another complex to rent from. This one is not worth the price or hassle. And if nothing else, definitely do not rent a 1st floor unit near the woods because you will have an insect/spider problem. Pros: (1) majority friendly staff (2) fast response to maintenance request (3) neighbors were fairly quiet Cons: (1) major trash issue - only one receptacle for the entire complex so garbage piles up quickly. No more recycling bins because tenants don't know how to properly throw away trash (2) thin walls/floors - can hear just about everything going on upstairs, including "intimate times" (3) late notices - notice regarding lease renewal was typed on a Wed. left at my door on a Fri. with instructions to return on Mon. or I'd automatically be enrolled into a month-to-month contract with rent increased by $200. Thank God I wasn't out of town! (4) tiny workout room - dirty, dusty, old, and only 4 pieces of equipment (5) SPIDERS, SPIDERS, SPIDERS!!! - were absolutely horrendous during the summer/early fall months
