The Fair Oaks Apartments are a wonderful place to live, the staff is friendly and responsive, the building is beautiful and you couldn't ask for a better place to live in Minneapolis. Across the street from the MIA, a few blocks from eat street and even within walking distance of Nicollet Mall. I loved it there. The staff regularly hosts grill outs and get-togethers to foster a friendlier community. Really I am sad to go. The only complaint I have is the no Pets policy which could be considered a plus for some. Amazing place, I really can't say enough.

I lived here for 2 years, and although the apartments themselves are nice enough, the neighborhood is not safe. I had two guests with cars broken into. If you live here, definitely get the underground parking. If you park on the street, the crime will eventually get you.

Rent is reasonable, apartments are beutiful, management is awesome, and maintenance is very timely. Plus the locale is great!

These apartments are so wonderful! I can't rave enough. Everything is in great condition and maintains its historical charm. Enclosed garden courtyard, with garden plots you can use in the summer. TONS of free street parking, no problems there. I have always felt very safe here. Please...I know people whose cars got broken into in Linden Hills, in the suburbs, that does not mean it's not safe! Walking distance to lots of coffee shops, restaurants, and new hot spot Eat Street Social. If I didn't have to move, I would never leave this place!

Firstly, in reaction to this not being a "safe location," 1.Don't leave tempting valuables in your car (not victim-blaming, but in the middle of a city it is not a bad idea) and 2. Car break-ins aren't exactly violent crimes. Also, I have yet to meet an employee of fair oaks who was not positively pleasant and incredibly helpful, but then again I pride myself on being a gracious and friendly tenant. Anyway, I love this place. Located within walking distance (or a very affordable cab) of uptown and downtown, and across the street from a park and MIA, we loved it. Additionally, the 2 bedroom unit we had was very practically laid out and had larger bedrooms and living spaces than other, more expensive units we looked at. Also, water, trash, and heat are all included. The residents here are also from all walks of life. As you are grilling in the middle of the courtyard you are likely to encounter: grad students, families, retired couples, etc. Definitely super affordable and adorable with an awesome location. Would live here forever if life would let me.
