First of all, this complex's management is completely inept. Anything you ask them to do, there's about a 10% chance of them actually doing it. Do not take anything they say at face value. Secondly, Northland is the biggest money grubbing company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They will charge you with anything and everything they can think of. Trust me, even if their rent seems cheaper than other places around, it WILL cost you in the end. It took management 3 months to get me my deposit back to me. By the time I got it back, it was so riddled with ridiculous, inarguable charges, there was hardly anything left to cash. The complex itself is nice, and living right next to walnut creek is great if you've got a dog, but the amount of stress and frustration this place caused me made living there not worth it. If you absolutely must move here, MAKE SURE YOU CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY READ THE ENTIRE LEASE AGREEMENT. It is chock full of sneaky charging opportunities. Pay particular attention to the 60 day move out notice requirement, they don't explain it very well upon move in, and it's a little trap they set to try to sucker people into paying an additional 2 months of rent. Personally, if I had a chance to do my time in North Austin all over again, I would steer clear of any Northland owned property.
Current resident, will likely resign. Good price/size. Maintenance is friendly, though slow response time.
COMPLETELY INCOMPETANT MANAGEMENT do yourself a favor and do not move here if you want an apartment in north austin, the only good thing is the location but it ALL goes out the window after that
Recently we were asked to move our cars from the parking lot for resealing. If we failed to do so, our cars would be towed and we would be charged $45. I understand the need for maintenance and appreciate it, but this notice was posted on our door less than 24 hours before the scheduled maintenance. The notice contained no apology for the inconvenience. I guess you were SOL if you were out of town. Just one example of the annoyances provided by the head managers. Most of the other employees that work here are very nice. However, the managers that make the decisions and deal with the leases are incompetent. I suggest you keep very detailed records of EVERYTHING. They WILL make errors, and you're going to need to help them with their job if you decide to live here.
Horrible Management. They will rip you... We got in and were not told about the deposit conditions. Lost the deposit. I could have paid the full deposit. They misled me. I lived in Apt 1527. Never take that. Apartment is very old with Bad insulation. You need to have Space Heater. Maintenance told they could not fix it. Thermostat would show 80, but the temperature would be 65-70 degree F. Water Bill is horribly high. I used to pay $40 for a bigger apartment nearby. Here for the same consumption it was average $90 Same with Gas and Electricity. It was atleast 50-75% higher. Somethings wrong. I understand with Gas being higher since the insulation is bad Finally after move-out, even after maintaining good conditions, they ripped me off additional $160, mentioning that they had to do OZONE Carpet cleaning. They are a bunch of people waiting on to rip every penny out of you. All the best if you decide to stay there. Regards, Ex-Resident
