While it was a nice apartment and we didn't encounter many issues during our stay, I do want to note that you need to cover your ass when moving out. Normally I don't write reviews, but this issue in particular upset both my fiance and I. We once had maintenance on our sink in the apartment. The guy assured us we did not need to move anything for him to do his work. Upon completion, we found that everything under the sink and around the sink was covered in gunk from the piped and needed to be cleaned. It took days before the apartment aired out from the smell! They couldn't do anything about it for us. Then when we moved out, they charged us on our last bill "special cleaning charges" and couldn't explain what it was for. Luckily it's not enough to fight longer about. But after numerous attempts in trying to contact Hailey, who kept "forgetting" to return my phone call with an explanation I finally got ahold of her. She chuckled at not returning my call. 1. We asked when we returned the keys if they wanted a walk through- they said no. We should have done so. I cleaned the place before we moved in and before we moved. No reason for "additional cleaning." I would've taken care of that. 2. If you decide to move here...TAKE PICTURES of the condition you get the apartment and return it. Things were going downhill from the day we moved in. Quality of the place was on a downward spiral. I think they are using additional charges to fill in some additional expenses... While the place offers a variety of amenities, in the end they will look to scamming more money out of your pocket.

I was apartment shopping and the Residence at the Links was high on my list upon the referral of a friend. I loved the property and I definitely would have signed had it not been for the conduct of one of the reps. I don't know why but he was pretty rude and dismissive of me as he showed me around. He told me to follow him in my car and he drove FAST. He replied sarcastically to my questions. It didn't seem like he wanted me there. I usually try to be a nice guy and I was worried the whole time that I offended him somehow. Maybe it was just him, but I was afraid that if I were to rent at the Residence at the Links, I'd have to deal with management that was equally uncaring so I opted to look elsewhere.

I've lived here for a little over a year and a half and have absolutely loved it. Maintenance has always come in a timely manner and have always done a great job fixing whatever needed to be fixed. They're all super friendly, too! Every one in the front office is wonderful as well. They're always very helpful and many of them have gone out of their way to help me out. I love the complex and my apartment is beautiful. I agree with a few of the other reviews in that the windows definitely need to be replaced as they're incredibly drafty, but that is probably my only complaint. All of our neighbors are extremely friendly and kind. This complex is verrrry dog friendly. I honestly can't say enough about this place.

We have lived here since September of 2014. At first we really loved it. It looked like a really great place to live. They except large dogs, have 2 pools, 2 gyms, a dog park, dog washing station, and their layouts of the apartments are pretty unique. They are some of the most expensive apartments we have looked at but our deciding factor was the fact they allowed our large breed dog. Another nice thing is they started a program called poo prints. Basically if you don't pick up after your pet they analyze it and will fine the owner. Before it started, it was a nightmare. There were piles everywhere and the dog park was not usable because of this issue. The negatives we have with the property is the towing issue. A tow truck is going around the parking lot every night and will tow your car if you don't have a sticker showing you're a resident. its a $198.50 charge and you have to drive all the way to Melrose park to pick up your car. also the gym is nice but some of the machines are broken and you cant use. and the pool area isn't supervised. I had 2 children with me one thats asthmatic and 2 people came in after office hours with their 2 dogs off the leash and they were smoking. I complained about the smoking in the pool area and they were fast to respond apologizing but we went back today and some European couple were smoking while several kids were present. we complained again to the office and again they responded immediately but the moment he left the guy lit up another cigarette still inside the pool then came up to my sister screaming and using profanity at her telling her they have lived here longer than us so we had no right saying anything about them smoking. It doesn't matter how long you have lived here. the rules need to be followed. I pay my rent just like them. It definitely seems like they play a seniority card and they get away with it. I emailed the office after leaving the situation with my nieces and the email I received back was a bit upsetting. I dont care if you're a smoker but have the balls to step out. Don't do it infront of children especially when you're unaware of any illnesses they may have. Needless to say we won't be renewing our lease again. Unfortunately the bad out weights the good in our situation. We have had other hiccups along the way as well but i thibk i painted a picture of my biggest issue with the property. "You need to call us when these issues are happening. We can only rectify what we know and intervene where we can as Santiago did. I apologize for the actions of a few residents. Please let us know immediately if situations like this arise."

My sister and brother in law moved here in Sept 2014. They loved the place at first and upon visiting them we liked it too. We continue to visit but have grown to dislike it just as they have. The office staff is very rude and doesn't do a very good job of enforcing rules. One of them being NO SMOKING in common areas. There are always people smoking in the hallways and the pool deck. When told about it the office says they have to catch them in the act. The only problem with that is the office closes and there is still access to the common areas. If they are really interested in stopping the behavior they would hire someone as security when the office is closed.
