I have lived in the Governors Point Community for a number of years. I moved here after experiencing life in one of the other Lake Lynn Communities. The buildings here are better maintained and have much newer appliances. At the other community the rugs were old and dirty, here they put in new rugs and repaint, so the apartment is fresh and clean when you move in. The floor plan is well laid out and spacious so it easy to fit your furniture into it. Whenever I had a maintenance issue, it was taken care of very quickly and was done to my complete satisfaction the first time. The Management staff works hard to make Governors Point , not just a place to stay, but a real home. The staff here treats you in a warm and friendly way, like you are part of a big family. One of the things that drew me to Governors Point, was the easy accessibility to Lake Lynn Park. Which is a 75 acre lake with a paved path around it . Perfect for walkers and runners alike. You can also go fishing and boating in the lake. The complex also has a clean and well maintained outdoor pool, for cooling off on hot Carolina days.

ummm stay away from here. best advice i can give anyone that wants a good exprience on living in apartments by the lake. this place is filthy and, disgusting. garbage area stinks so bad and it's stacked all the way to the brim. smells horrible. at one time maybe 15 years ago or so this place might have been luxury but, now it is fallen apart.pool is never open. the gym has fallen of any status it had. management is not so good in managering anything.rent goes up everytime you sign a lease. instead of over charging for a dirty apartment first fix them and make them look like the models you be showing people when they first visit this place.also i am not to fond about maintance going in my house when i am not home. . this place is straight ghetto.

The community is nice and quiet. I love the scenery. I dislike how long it takes to get answers and maintenance issues resolved. They would rather patch a problem than resolve it.

Governors Point Apartments (and Northland Investment Corporation, the company that owns it) has been horrible to work with since I moved out. They sent me a VOID CHECK that was supposed to be reimbursing me for my security deposit. My bank notified me that the account was closed and it could not process the check. My bank said that if I tried to redeposit it and it bounced again, it would place an automatic freeze on all my accounts. I contacted Citibank (the bank that issued the check from Northland Investment Corporation) and they confirmed that a hold was placed on the check. Citibank could not give me much more detail than that for confidentiality reasons. I have contacted Governors Point over 5 times on the matter. Every time they could not give me an answer as to why a hold was placed on it, nor will they write me a new check. Just to clarify, this is money the apartment complex owes me, by contract, but appears unwilling to pay. It appears they are just waiting for me to go away, but I am not going to let that happen by notifying every potential and current resident of what they are dealing with in Governors Point and Northland Investment Corporation.

It's cheap. That is the upside. It took me 3 weeks to get a mailbox key that worked for my mailbox. Packages aren't accepted at the front office so if you have something that is larger than the lockboxes then you are encouraged to have it sent to your job. Office staff are ineffective in most tasks. My oven doesn't work and I'm not about to deal with what it would take to get a new one. I may stay because of location and price. Just beware any dealings with the office will result in headaches.
