I called less than 24 hrs before going there to look at 3 bed/2 bath unit. The lady on the phone was nice, told me that it was not yet available but I could come and see the floor plan. I walked in holding my son and my mother followed. The look on the office lady's face was priceless. I knew I was wasting my time, but went ahead and let her know that I called yesterday about the unit. She quickly said, oh it was rented out yesterday night or this morning. I simply looked at my mother and smiled. We both knew what just took place. It was not our first time and probably not the last time someone saw the color of our skin and wanted nothing to do with us. I understand that some people are still racist, or just uncomfortable with someone who they think is "black". I'm not even writing this to say that the apartment is bad, I just want people to know and avoid wasting time going there.

I love it there

I lived in Hampshire downs for nearly two years and it was a great complex to live in. Very clean and well kept. The office staff did a wonderful job communicating with me on all matters and were outstanding when addressing issues I had with a neighbor. Great location. Only complaint is that it can get noisy during the airshows in the summer, but that is out of their control. If you are looking for a good complex with a professional staff and good value, i would absolutely recommend this apartment complex.

I had great experience with Hampshire Downs. It's close to my work place and I can walk to work. Highly recommended!
