I want you all to know a bit more about me before reading this review. I am a 100% Disabled Veteran that moved to Charleston, SC in December 2008. I lived with my parents (Father and Step Mother) for a few months because I just got Temporary Medical Retirement Listed after 7 years and 3 Months of being Active Duty Army and that gave me time to find a place to move into and save for some essentials I would need while I was there. I was also getting over the loss of my Mother Deborah Chadunkin (She was remarried in case the last name confuses anyone) in October 2008. I moved into Heron Reserve in 2009 and stayed there for 2 years. I only moved because I was starting to be too close on bills and the 3 BR cost was too high and they wouldn't give me a deal on a 2BR even though I was a current resident. All and all the people that worked there were great on move in and while I was there. The issues came when I moved out. I gave them notice of my moving and also made an appointment for a walk through. I came for the appointment and was told they were too busy to do said walk through. I even came back 2 more times that week and still wasn't allowed to do the walk through. Within a month or so I received a bill stating I owed for a new carpet and paint etc. At most I expected some little fees per the usual that almost everybody knows happens(example:Stove Trays, Carpet Cleaning etc.)) They took my whole deposit and wanted liek $800 more (I forget the exact original amount). They replaced the carpet saying I destroyed it. On top of that I don't think anything was prorated based off 2 years of usage either. I have since been ignoring it on my credit because I have personal/medical issues beyond that that I feel are more important than being screwed over by this apartment complex and their company in general. They sent it to a Collection Agency named Hunter Warfield in which I called today to try to make some compromise because I accept I may have owed a little but the amount expected is ridiculous especially when not being allowed a walk through. The lady on the call told me that I needed a 60 day letter notifying the apartment complex of my move out that I needed to turn in and keep a copy of and that I needed to request a walk through and have proof of that on paper. All of this is completely ridiculous. I am posting this so current residents are prepared for this issue and future people looking to be residents have a proper view of this possibility before moving in or signing any leases. If they talked to me and settled it like they weren't just trying to get extra money out of me I would have been much happier and less worried for myself and others going forward. All in all Id say it could be even 4 stars living there at that time, but the prices are even higher so probably only 3 stars now due to value. But I would rate the staff besides the repair guys a 1 star for the nonsense they pulled on me moving out. Ill be paying their half off offer even though it wont say I paid it in full on my credit because I need to do something to get this off my credit other then wait 7 years. I'm not ever moving anywhere this company owns ever again and I wont be referring anyone here ever again. I would suggest anyone that is reading this to do the same. I gave you all my real name showing and enough info to do some quick searches on Google to know I am being truthful and I wouldn't waste my time doing this if it wasn't going to help anyone else or if I didn't feel I needed to do so. Sincerely, Joe Tewksbury

I lived there from 3/10-3/11 and I wished I could afford to move back there! I had a 2nd floor 3 bedroom apartment with a roommate. I had really no complaints! Every time I called for service/maintenance issues it was resolved within 24 hours. I thought it was really quite and I never heard my neighbors!! The parking was a bit of a problem on the weekends, at least if you came home after 10pm there where no decent parking spots left. All in all I would move to this community again in a second!

The Mexican landscapers will rob you blind if you leave anything outside of your apartment. Beware! They stole numerous items from my car, and took UPS package deliveries from my front door step.
